Looking around at the trees, maples are already golden, orange and changing. The temperatures in the AM are in the 50s. I guess like the birds, we need to head south. How about you.

They are predicting a high of 64 on Thursday here in central MO.  I guess that would be fall.  Trees are dropping leaves, but I think it is from lack of rain.

It is still in the 80's during the day in Virginia.  But the nights are dropping down to the mid 60's.  The humidity has dropped way down too.  I love this time of year.  Not so crazy about Winter following with ice & snow.  But I am happy to be away from the triple digit days with 1000% humidity (only a slight exageration). Smile

At noon it's 86* ...... by late this afternoon it will be in the low 90s.  It sure doesn't seem like fall.
Isn't it funny that today it wioll hit 90 and tomorrow our high temp is supposed to be in the 60!

I do think fall is coming!  Here in PA, it is starting to get dark earlier, but I also have my eyes on my beautiful Blue Mountains and I don't see the leaves changing yet.  When they do, it is a plethora of colors!  The nights are getting cooler; low 60's and the days are in the high 70's to the low to mid 80's during the day.

The temps here in Illinois (northern) are very nice.  Cool in the evening and it warms up nicely during the day.  Great for sleeping!
It is staying darker longer, getting darker earlier...the birds are filling themselves at the feeder.
I see some trees have started to change color.  Not sure if it is normal change or due to stress form the damage done earlier with wind storms and heavy rains then the very hot temperatures.
Just can't wait for the rains then Mushroom Hunting!!

September is typically our hottest month here in southern California. We did have 100+ last week, but this week it's back in the 80's. We always have cool evenings, even throughout the summer. I'm talking about temps in the 60's, sometimes into the high 50's. It's wonderful not to run the A/C at night, and just throw open a window or two. The days are getting shorter as we approach December, which I am a bit sad about.

It is so amazing. We are living in the same country and our weather is so diverse. Yes, days are getting shorter in the NE, but Fall is beautiful and thinking of apple, pumpkin pies is really enticing.

It's so true.  Baking with apples and cinnamon and pumpkin pies make your house smell so warm and good.  I am excited.  However, I just heard the other day that the pumpkin mix you buy in the store, is not pumpkin at all, but squash and that there is a pumpkin shortage this year due to hurricane Irene so pumpkin prices will be high this year.
