I remember one time I put 20 dollars in a book and forgot all about it. My sister borrowed the book and gave me the 20 back saying I might want it. Could not remember when I had put that money in the book.

Wow, Sharon! Good thing you lent the book to your sister instead of some dishonest person! Kind of an expensive bookmark, huh?! LOL!!

LOL, Irma!!! Usually when I do things like that, it's cause my mind is on something else and I'm not paying attention to what I'm doing. But....been there...done that!!

Maxine, if you are referring to Julie typing in all caps and running her sentences together....it's not intentional. She apologized and mentioned in one of the other discussion boards that she is losing her sight and it is undoubtedly difficult for her to read the small print.
I'm glad she is here posting. I'd miss her!

My shopping list is so difficult to keep track of ........  I keep that on a magnetized tablet on the fridge so I won't lose it.
When heading out to shop, of course, I tear that off and head out the door.  50% of the time I can't find it when I get to the store.

I have always laughed at the phrase that you find something in the last place you look...of course it is the last place...why would you continue to look once you have found the missing item?

I think the reason we "misplace" items is several fold, we have so much on our minds that the "little stuff" does not stand a chance against the things we think are bigger  and like a bag or basket we fill our minds with all the things in our lives that something has to fall out or there is no room for "new" stuff.

I do this all the time.  For Christmas I was going to bake a batch of the White Island Cookies Nancy is always raving about.  I had purchase the white chips but I needed macadamia nuts.  When I got the macadamia nuts home I could not find the white chips, discovered they were not where I thought I had put them while in the process of making the cookies so I had to change up ingredients half way through.
Found the white chips a week later in a different spot in the refrigerator!
Can't tell you how many gifts I have purchased and put away for later then couldn't find them when I went to get them. They eventually turn up but always a week late!

All of these sound so familiar, so it isn't just me.  Of course, I blame it on ghosts, who like to hide things on me.  To make it worse, sometimes I hear things and there's no one there.  This usually happens at work.  And, I have a good one about misplaced glasses.  Someone that I worked with couldn't find his glasses.  No, they were not on top of his head.  I pointed to my chest - he'd placed them in the front of his shirt.  He got the hint.

All the time!!  My Mother told me that when one misplaces an item, you should think about it just before you fall asleep, and when you wake, you will be able to remember where it is.  One time, after my Mom had passed away, I could not remember where I put her diamond ring that she gave me just before her death.  I thought about it that night before retiring, and, lo and behold! when I woke up the next morning, I went right to the place where I had hidden it!  Aren't Mothers great!

I have a habit of buying Christmas presents or birthday gifts early.  When I bring them home I have to find a hiding place for them and sometimes the hiding place is so good even I can't find them LOL.  Usually I will find them after the event, and buying something else, and then have to figure out what to do with them.

I do this with my cards.  I buy a Birthday, Anniversary card, Get well card or something else with all good intentions of getting them into the mail and i find them after the date has passed.  Okay I now have a nice collection of greeting cards for next time! LOL
