My husband and I both study the candidates and any measures that are on the ballots, and vote according to how each will best serve or benefit our community, state or nation. We are registered for a political party but never vote strictly party line - too many variables.

GRANA  here;
 It's an exhausting process but the worst of it  is the multiple phone calls that come in  & never at a convenient time....We get calls for the party whose ballot we used  in the primary( We're  undeclared/independant & must pick one party's ballot in order to vote on referendums & in  the  the primaries .Only recently havewe been allowed  to e re-declare urselves s independents on the wayoout butthese calls keep comingin anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We tryto be politeto thesecsallers; they areworking hard for their candidate; or for
minimum wage in boiler room type  call centers.
But some of them can get pushy & unpleasant and really try my patience!!!!!!!!!!Yell

I get calls fortheparty  I voted in  @ the last primary   election & callsfor theparty our d-i-l is a  a member of( she has never lived here but uses our address while she's in the NAVY.   Mail comes in from both parties; phone calls & even doorbell ringing.It's not been too bad this year but it's still early & we just  got a new phone #Wink

Personally, I'm already very tired of the whole thing.  Seems like they start campaigning as soon as the election is over(like 4 years ago).  They may have unlimited funds to do all this campaigning but I think there should be a whole shorter time frame on electioneering.  Maybe limit them to the six months(or less) before an election.  That would certainly make it easier on the rest of us.  I see no reason why political calls should be exempt from the DONOTCALL list.   Unless you ask them to call, it's just an intrusion.

Although I vote every election, it is getting harder to find factual information on which to base voting.  There really is so much garbage out there in the media, campaign brochures, etc.  Sometime I think they do that just to distract us from what really matters, that this country is in debt so deep we may never find a way out.  All we can do is vote for who we think is the best candidate for the job, and PRAY!

H.M. I totally agree with you.  I wish political calls would be included in the do not call list too!

I have a hard time finding accurate information as well.  I wish the candidates would just tell us what they
have done in the past and what they plan to do and where they stand on the issues instead of spending all
their time putting down the other candidates.  It is very frustrating.

I sometimes get tired of hearing the candidates. I prefer straight talk abour what they have done and what they plan to do for the good of the country and its citizens.

My husband and I study the candidates and their past performances. We do not vote by party, but what the candidate can do to further this countries basic freedoms without giving government more control over our lives. We must try to protect the basic freedoms that made the USA strong and that so many have died protecting.
