Do you remember dressing up in Easter clothes when you little? I remember the pretty dresses, the Easter purses and the hats and going to church and everyone there was dressed up in fancy clothes. My long blonde hair would get curled in curlers and I was sent to bed that way. It really hurt to sleep that way! I would go to Sunday school every Sunday and then wait to go home while listening to the adult service. More often than not I would try to fall asleep during that and my mom had to bribe me with Life Savers to stay awake. All the excitement over the Easter bunny and church wore me out!

That brings back childhood memories Vicki.  These days you don't see too many people "dressing up" for anything.  Although, I still see fancy little girls' dresses in the stores, it's rare to see a child all dressed up even in church.

oh yes!
i had 4 sisters      and we all got new clothes and shoes and hats at easter  and again for first day the of school   oh yes we also got white gloves, because we wore gloves to church
my mother sewed all our clothes and we passed them down     but twice a year  we each got a new dress
i guess i shouldn't count the youngest, since she was so far behind the rest of us  she never shared anything of ours

I remember dressing up for church on Sunday morning.  Easter Sunday was even more special.
I do recall the hat..I hate hats.  I hated hats back then.

My daughter dresses up my 3 yr old Granddaughter and she loves it.  She is the most "girlie girl" I have ever known.  I keep waiting for her to rebel.

I especially remember the new pair of "mary jane's" shoes to go with my new dress.  Oh yes, the gloves too.  At least I didn't have to wear a hat.  My mother wasn't into hats very much.  I think she realized that I would have taken it off at the first chance, and never would have worn it again.  Organdy was a big fabric for "Sunday School Dresses"  However, It had to have a matching  slip under it.  It did itch from time to time, and was sheer.  I hadn't thought about Easter dresses in ages.  Thanks Vicki for the reminder!!!

My brother and I were always dressed up for Easter. My mom dressed him in his little suit and new shoes. Me a frilly dress, lace trimmed socks,a bonnet, white gloves and new shiny shoes.I remember getting dressed up just to go for a nice ride in the country. Those days are long gone no one seems to be interested how they look or care about how others see them.I always dress up nice when we go out for dinner,it makes me feel good.

We always dressed up when we went to Church on Easter Sunday.  Sometimes it was a new dress and/or shoes and sometimes it was home made.  We always had a hat.  I'm still not a hat person.

You don't see many people dressing up for Church these days.

I used to dress my boys up in little suits when they were little, but I don't have any girls so I missed out on all the pretty dresses.
