We met in the dining hall at college 30 some odd years ago through a mutual friend.  It seemed to be love at first sight for both of us.  I was going into my senior year and we were going to be living in apartments across the hall from each other.  6 months to the day after we met we got married just to make things lets say more convenient.  lol   Been together ever since.

John I am so sorry to hear about your loss.  That would be tough lose a partner after such a long time together, though it is never easy no matter how long.

Fun thread, it is interesting to hear how people met.

Paul

I met my husband on a blind date in college.  One of the girls in my dorm fixed me up with a friend of her boyfriend's to go to a party.  We were both juniors in college.  Things progressed from there and we were married 13 days after we graduated from college.  We hav two grown children ages 47 and 45, and 5 grandkids  ages range from 10-17.  We celebrated our 50th anniversary last June.  Our kids and grandkids gave us a beautiful surprise party.

My brother took my son to cub scouts at age 5.  My husband was the cubmaster.  I became a den leader when my son was 6.  Rob & I starting dating 2 years later.  In 2002 we married.  He has 3 boys, I have 1.  During that time, I've battled & survived breast cancer, we bought a house & adopted an ASPCA dog.  We moved into a house in 2003 because 6 of us cramped in a 5 room apartment was havoc on the nervous.  Look at our kids now, they would've never fit.  The youngest 2 were in bunk beds, 1 in a bed, oldest 1 in his room, parents in 1 room=our only time away was living room, kitchen, bathroom & let me tell you - all the rooms were small, not oversized rooms where we lived.  It was an absolute first on our to do list to find a bigger living area.  Our anniversary is February 8, this year #9.  Each year, my son reminds us that if he hadn't joined scouts, we would've never met, dated & married & we still laugh when he says that.

We met on a blind date to go to the movies, the second semester of our senior year of high school.  After nurses training and 5 years of college for engineering we married.  We had our 45th wedding anniversary last October.

I met my husband on a blind date that my cousin talked me into.....only thing.....he was her date, not mine.  My date was one of his friends.  Two days later, my cousin's date called me.  He asked me out....I told him I couldn't do that to my cousin.  He was not going to take no for an answer, and kept calling.  I finally said "One date....that's all".  That was over 59 years ago.  We have been married 53 years this month.  My cousin hardly ever spoke to me after that!  I guess some things are just meant to be!
