Gas here is $3.29 a gallon and I think we are usually less than many parts of the country. What's yours? Are you making any changes in travel?

I called my insurance company, I doubled the value of my car when I filled up last!
Costco is usually the least expensive place, they are about 3 cents less than others around.  Dominick's, a grocery store around here has some stores with gas and with your shopper card they deduct 3 cents per gallon.
Anyway or anywhere you buy it, it's getting expensive.

Middle Georgia prices it at $3.39 today.   I can afford the cost of gas but won't use it out of principle unless necessary. Lately I have only been buying 1/2 tank every two months or so, the heck with them.

Here in South Central Kansas it is $3.29 a gallon.  Our daughter lives in Georgia.  So my husband and I will fly- if we get good prices.

I haven't been out in a while but I see on the news where places in New York and New Jersey are $4.00 or close to it.

Speaking of health insurance, our health insurance just went up $70 for my husband and $70 for me.  As Susan and Nancy said, what a crime!!!

My husband put 1/2 tank in his pickup this evening and it was $90! That is more than my heating bill for the house!!!!

We are getting ripped off royally by some of the larger gas companies and it will only get worse unless we really raise our voices.

And tonight, on the news, they talked about our states government placing a penny per ounce on soft drinks just to raise money for the schools. These are the same idiots who promised no more taxes and pushed the lottery with the promise that it would take care of our educational expenses for years to come.

I love my country and don't wish to ruin the environment either, but why can't we drill for fuel in our country to lower the cost of gasoline as well as the cost of living (buying food, etc) and lower the national debt?  Fuel is $3.39 at BJ's 2 days ago.

No I have to disagree, health insurance is a product bought and paid for not a God given right  and there are no laws or rules in this country that allow hospitals to turn away anyone in need of care.  I agree that insuranc is too expensive but what have you done to make the price, of ins or healthcare, go down !!!   If the people refused to allow the industry to charge the fees it does they would have to go down to compete, believe it or not. The problem is NOT the insurance companies but the providers of the care. Hospitals charge $350 to $1000 per day, doctors collect $15,000 for 60 minute procedures, and places like GE charge $1,500,000 for an MRI machine.  There are the problems.  Contact your elected insurance commissioner in your state and demand their office grab hold of the legislature to force the insurance companies doing business there to negotiate with the industry for cheaper prices or do no business with them.  But remember the nurses and other employees as well as the professionals will have to accept large pay rollbacks to fit in with what you are willing to pay.
Good luck to all.  Send that info to the White House !!!

Friday a gang of us old people get together for breakfast and today's an important one.   One dear woman is in PA with her mother (who was 92) who just passed away and  we will be writing a letter and sending flowers.  Another will be having her first breakfast out since breast surgery.
If it weren't for things like this I wouldn't use gas to drive for another meal out.
The price of gas will make so many changes in our life.

It is $3.49 a gallon here, but it is supposed to go up again.

I don't know if they do this in other places, but here they play this little game where they drop the price about 5 cents for about a day only to raise it the next day by 25 cents.  It really makes me crazy!

Install a locked gas cap on your car. It  helps in many ways.

In northern Los Angeles County I paid $3.43 at Costco last week. Today (3/3/11) it's $3.89 at Costco, the cheapest station in our town.

Verlee, There are really long lines at our Costco, but it is worth the wait.

I try to fill the top quarter in my pick up.  That way the sticker shock is much less.  It is also better to keep the tank full when it is cold out.  Here in mid MO it is $3.26 today.

It went up here over 75¢ a gallon in about 8 days. I put 10 1/2 gallons in my car today and it was over $35! It has not been that long since it would have cost less than half of that and I can remember it costing $2.50 for 10 gallons! I have to have gas because I can't walk with my bum leg and my husband drives about 25 miles round trip to work every day. I am so thankful I have a 4-cylinder that gets 31 mpg!
