Nancy, there is a comic strip in one of my local papers that must have been written JUST for you.
In the strip the mom has noticed that the dog has been gaining weight and mom saw one of the kids feeding the dog cookies.  This is the conversation that ran yesterday.

MOM: Alix, you can't give Biscuit cookies, she'll get fat.
ALIX: But she likes cookies.
MOM: But she'll live longer if we keep her trim.
BISCUIT (the dog): Who wants to live longer if you have to live without cookies?

For some reason I thought you would get a kick out of the conversation.

You know,,,,, just like "Mom" I wonder about all the cookies and candy I carry to the church kids..... I've asked every mother and have their permission. The minister gave me his permission but I still wonder and worry a bit.
Tonight I'll be handing out more during art class.

And - a funny - the older kids are in music class while I have the younger kids in art class.  When the older kids get out of class they thunder full speed ahead into the art class.  I've learned to carry extra treats.  lol lol lol

Though not intended, for me;I still appreciate the accuracy of biscuit the dog's thoughts....aka: .He might not live longer; it will only seem that way [ w/o cookies]Wink

Hey I have eaten cookies and candy forever and I'm still happy!  If God created them they can't be all that bad!

I suppose I should have worded the start to the discussion a bit differently.  I think we all are cookie fanatics here.
There is a bit of truth to the comic in that if we do not have  something to enjoy life does not seem to have the same "sparkle".  For each of us that "something" is different.  For some it is a good book, a batch of cookies, a walk on a beach.  It does not take much to get a contented sigh.
