since i had an accidental fall in may requiring 21 staples across my right kneecap---------out of necessity i started using the motorized shopping carts at the stores that provide even though sometimes they are frustrating and clunky---------i can actually go to more than one store in a day now without major back pain or leg and foot cramps--------------it is also easier to find help from store employees in reaching top shelf items

The surprise when i went into walmart monday was that they had a whole row of BRAND NEW CARTS all lined up and waiting at 9 am

and when i went into my local kroger about 1 pm yesterday------they also had a waiting fleet fo brand new carts

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!!!

What a nice surprise, and that it came at this time of year really is a surprise.  Those carts are a life savior when you need them.  I used to use one after my hip replacement, and they always seemed to run out of power half way through the store.  Good for you that they have replaced theirs with new ones!

thanks all

my knee has  healed  and unbelievably since the fall was very bad--------------my knee has never hurt--------no damage beyond wound --------------------i'm 68 and this just propelled me to start using the carts all the time------i was just going home when my back gave out instead of finishing my 'looking around'

also if i went to 2 stores i always got severe charley horses in the bottom of feet and ankles when i got back to the car and have to sit and wait before i could drive home

I appreciated those carts very much for almost a year while I was recovering from spinal surgery and unable to walk...I got upset at our FleetFarm in town, because you have to sign them out and give your driver's license!!!  Anyway, hope you will be doing better soon, and have a blessed Christmas!!!

That is great that they are replacing the carts.  I'm sure there are so many people who can benefit from using them.

SmileI have used the motorized carts in the past and it was a surprise when the last person who used it was conscientious enough to plug it in to recharge for the next person.lol Usually not.

I think it is wonderful for stores to provide the motorized card for people who need them.  But I get really annoyed when I see people take them for their kids to play, with or even adults who do not need them.  My local store told me they had to retrieve one from the othe end of the shopping center.  The battery was dead & they had to put it in a truck to bring it back.  Was that a person who was disabled?  I do NOT think so.  Those people will cause stores to stop offering the service.
