You forgot:
Chocolate and Peanut butter!
Chocolate and coconut
Chocolate and Almonds

Chocolate and almost anything.
I add unsweetened chocolate to a batch of chili. Adds a rich flavor and deepens the color.

Spices are good with chocolate, I like cinnamon, hot peppers add a little heat.
Believe it or not I had chocolate covered bacon at the Wisconsin State fair a year ago, won't replace the cream puffs but it was pretty good. They should have a cardiologist set up a table next to the booth along with an AED machine!

Yes -- ~blush~blush~  I'm in the kitchen (when I'm not here ..... see, I found a new recipe for bark:

MARBLE BARK
6 sqs semi-sweet chocolate
6 sqs white chocolate
1 cup chopped pecans
Microwave both chocolates in separate bowls..... add 1/2 cup pecans to each melted chocolate.
Alternately spoon chocolates onto waxed paper covered baking sheet.
Swirl with knife.  Put in 'refrig to cool.  Break into pieces.

And I've made the dough for chocolate chip cookies using regular chips and white chips.... and the dough for the chocolate cookies with peppermint chips.

If I can drive on the snow covered streets tomorrow morning - I'm taking cookies and candy to the local police dept.

I am ASTONISHED  .... How could you not think of COCONUT .... and/or Peanut Butter??
How about pecans?  Pecans covered with chocolate!!

And white chocolate .... are you thinking about white chocolate?

lol -- now I have four great recipes for bark ....
Guess what.
This is the first time I've made bark in my life.

Lots of big steps this year... chocolate is a small one but it sure is fun.

I've never made Bark either, Nancy! How did it come out? Pretty good?
We were all short on money for gifts this year, so used imaginations. My youngest sister gave me some homemade mixes for cookies and brownies....you know, the one where you mix up the dry ingredients and put them in a canning jar. Take the recipe to the jar and when you get ready to make them, you add the other ingredients...like milk, eggs, etc. She did them up really pretty with pieces of cloth underneath the canning ring on top of the lid. She also carved out knotholes in a long piece of tree limb for us so we can fill the holes with peanut butter mixture and hang out for the birdies to munch on! They absolutely love it!! Homemade gifts are the ultimate best!!!

The home made dry mix for hot chocolate is pretty good too.  It keeps well on the shelf.  I used to make batches to give as Christmas gifts for our grown children - especially for our son-inlaw as he is not a coffee drinker.

Carol - I made 5 (five!!) different kinds of bark .... what fun.  Bark is so easy and so good.
And, of all things, it impresses lots of people -lol.  Melt some purchased chocolate, smear it around and it's impressive!

Chocolate is my biggest downfall!  Ann, dear, you should have added "all of the above and then some" LOL.  Great question anyway.

I think I' ve already written this somewhere on here but IMHO it's worth repeating.
I bake the usual 9x13 brownies but add many, many pecans -- it turns out to be just a lot of nuts barely held together with brownies.
When cool I start chopping the whole thing .... 9 x 13 over-nutted (lol) brownie chopped into very small pieces.
All the tiny pieces are divided into Snack zip-lock bags and those bags are stored in a big freezer bag.

This makes the best ice cream topping you've ever tasted.
