In Response to CAST IRON COOKWARE:
I was just wondering how many of you use the old tried and true cast iron cookware. My brother has been going out to a local flea market and last year he bought me a cast iron frying pan for $5.My hubby bought me a beautiful set of professional quality stainless steel pots and pans when he bought me my new stove for $$$$$ .I have to say that I really like the cast iron better. That frying pan is stored in my oven when I'm not using it but it finds it's way out everyday.I love it! There is no nonstick cookware that can compare to well seasoned cast iron.My son bought me a cast iron griddle about a month ago at ALDI's he paid $12.99 for it.It was a mark down. Now he said I have no excuse for not making him pancakes! Gotta love that kid ! :) Pineapple upside down cake and deep dish pizza are just a couple of things I use my cast iron frying pan for. It's great for making eggs too!

Thanks for posting about the deep dish pizza, I never thought about doing it in the skillet ( I use my Wilton 16 inch pan), my mom did the pineapple upside cake so I remembered that & keeping the skillet in the oven (it was heavy & now & then it had to be washed in the sink & I stood on a chair to do the dishes & needed help with the rinse & getting it out of the sink)
