Yes, Carol, please share, especially if you have any great recipes from there. My husband and I were fortunate enough to spend several days in Holland. We visited Amsterdam and Harlem. This Harlem is a beautiful city.

I'm sorry but the Holland I was refering to was Holland, MI. It is also a Dutch town
and I am Dutch too. We have Tulip Time in May when visitors from all over
the country come to see all the tulips in bloom. We have an original working
windmill shipped over from the Netherlands at Windmill Island. I do have Dutch
cookbooks and if you have a recipe you would like to have me look up, I will.
I lived there for 45 years before moving to CA. Holland, MI is close to Lake
Michigan so you always get lake effect snow. I do not miss snow. Today, they
had a 30 vehicle pileup on I96 with whiteout conditions near Holland. I always
go back in Sept. to see family and the fall colors. I prefer living in CA. lol

There is also a "Holland, OH"!! Very close to Toledo, OH, Oregon, OH, etc. I have been to Holland, MI many times for the Tulip Festival. So beautiful!! I have also been to the Tulip Fields in "The Holland". It is HUGE!! I had some bulbs sent home (you cannot carry them onto a plane). What a thrill it was when they came into bloom!!

Mary L., No, We cook meat like everyone else. Sometimes they are a little
light on spices. Before Tulip Time a lot of ladies from all the churches in the
area make pig in the blankets and donate them to Tulip Time so they can
make more money. The meat inside is a mixture of hamburger and sausage
wrapped in dough and baked. You eat them warm with ketchup. Yummy.
My Mother was one of those ladies who helped make pig in the blankets.

Darla and Bakery 1, I really loved the tulips too. I had the same thing
happen to my tulips in CA too. Something ate them. Never tried to plant
them again. They are really beautiful.

Make a "basket" of chicken wire and place the bulbs in the basket. Plant the whole thing. Tulips or whatever will come up through the wire but critters can not eat the bulbs. This does nothing to deter deer from eating the plants once they come up.
