Some people are just plain rude and stupid.  If the tables were reversed just for one day they would feel and treat people who have any handicap differently.

I agree, people just don't understand what service dogs are and how important they are.  THe dogs are probably smarter than those people.

In our area many service dogs wear "vests" that identify them as service dogs.  I even see a service dog at the local middle school with a boy who has diabetes.  The kids treat him just like any other kid and the dog is always there.  Once people understand the novelty wears off.  I have seen service dogs in both grocery stores and restaurants, and everyone seems very accepting of them.  We even have several neighbors that are training puppies to be service dogs, and it is wonderful to see them mature.  Maybe we are just more savvy about those things here in Northern California.

That's terrible!  People have to get with it and start thinking about other people, especially those who are handicapped.  I have a sister in law who is paraplegic and my husband has MS.  I am so aware of people who are handicapped; even before they had these problems!!!  What is this world coming to!

Obviously the owner of the store and the girl at the coffee shop need to be retrained!  Besides, most if not all service dogs have harnesses for the person to hold on to. This should have given them a clue.

In my area I have seen women bring their "little doggies" into the store in their purses.  Who does that?  That is what isn't allowed!   But those are the kind of people who don't have any idea how important a service dog is to a disabled person.  All I have to say for them is "shame on you".
