I have been praying for the people of Japan as every day it seems to be getting worse.  I have made a donation to the American Red Cross to help with the needs of Japan.  Can we do more?

Our church is accepting collections for fellow church members in Japan who have been affected by this. This way I know every penny I send will go to the people and not to pay for salaries and administrative costs for people in larger organizations, etc. I'm confident most churches will be accepting donations as well.

I will donate to the Red Cross or to a church but I still wonder...
There are so many reports that all the money collected for Haiti has still to reach the people that need it.  There are so many problems, hands, channels that it all has to pass through.
Please don't forget that there was damage in Hawaii and on the mainland as well.  Not as much I will grant you but the Red Cross needs donations for here as well.

I'm sure the assessment of the damage is completed there will be numbers to call and websites set up for donations and other ways we can help the country of Japan. Innocent

I personally think the Salvation Army does a great job.  They seem to have lower overhead expenses, and more goes directly into services.  Our  newspapers have addresses for all the major charities that are helping.

I think our prayers do help.  They are still finding some people who have been trapped for days.  I can't imagine their losses and terror.

Frightened Tokyo residents hoping to stock up on bottled water and other goods flocked to shops across the city, some of which tried to prevent hoarding by imposing buying limits

Scores of earthquakes have rattled the country over the past two weeks, adding to the sense of unease across Japan, where the final death toll is expected to top 18,000 people, with hundreds of thousands still homeless.
