We have had warmer than usual weather here in California, but we need rain!!!!  All our reservoirs are getting low, and the snow pack in the Sierra is about 20% of normal.  (Skiing is horrible even though the resorts are making snow)  There is a massive High pressure system that is sending all the storms to the North.  I know the east and mid west are getting hard hits of snow and cold.  Maybe you could send some of that snow to our Sierra mountains!!!

Barbara. I would if I c ould  It was 10 below this morning and it looked like we had gotten about 5 inches of snow yesterday.  Hard to tell because it drifted so.

Still frigid here today but at least some of the wind has subsided.  It was so cold and windy overnight that my Mom's garage door didn't want to open all the way.  Had to open it manually so I could get my car out but that just means I will have to do it again to get the car back in when I go back there.  Spring better hurry up and get here quick!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When you're out in the cold, the part of your skin that's exposed will chill rapidly, experts say. This can lead to decreased blood flow and your body temperature can drop, leaving you susceptible to frostbite and hypothermia.

According to Marshall, frostbite "starts with tingling or stinging sensations. The face, fingers, and toes are the first body parts to be affected. Then muscles and other tissues can become numb." Additional signs of frostbite include redness and pain in the skin. This can lead to discolored and numb skin, he said.

Hypothermia, which often goes hand-in-hand with frostbite, can affect the brain, making it harder to think clearly and make smart decisions. Warning signs of hypothermia include shivering, confusion, slurred speech and drowsiness, Marshall said.If you have THERMO UNDERWEAR USE IT/WEAR IT.

Here, at the tip of Ohio, it is like Spring today....12 degrees!!!  That's a whole lot better than the minus 17 that we went through the other night!  I thoroughly detest Winter.  I think we should move either West or South!

WOW, 16 degrees today!  Finally out of the detested deep freeze.  Supposed to get over 30 by Friday but expecting rain which, although will wash away some of the snow, may cause more problems with flooding.

Looking good by Friday we should be in the 40's and that is on the + side of the "0" for a change.
