Nancy, they are both adorable. Badcat looks as if he could fill up a lap like my boys Shadow, Popcorn and Baby Shadow. My girl, Miss Mia Meow only weighs a few pounds, she's tiny. The rest are huge guys. We're getting off-topic aren't we?

I think the winter weather is all over the US. I am mid Texas and it was in the low 20s here this am. My husband asked if I heard a squealing coming from his truck this am when I let him out and locked up and asked if he was kidding. I told him the only thing I heard was my teeth chattering and I wasn't even wearing them!!Frown

For all of you in the SNOW BELT, we in FL are experiencing very low temperatures and we are not as hardy as you Northerners, although we too once were from the North. I don't know what happens when you move South, but anything below 50 degrees is Brrrrrrr!!! With our wind chill, most of the older folk stayed home or what amazed me, some of them had on winter jackets with hoods.

Angela - I have a  friend in Miami and she's COLD.
I was born and raised in Missouri .... when I moved to central coast Califfornia I nearly froze to death!~  I was colder in CA than I was in North Dakota and that makes no sense at all.

Right this minute - 6:55 AM in east central Missouri it's 3 degrees -- Yes, three degrees.

It's cold for most people here in arkansas. Yesterday morning we were at 21 WC 12.We're at 25 this morning and a chance of sleet tomorrow. I grew up in PA and lived in IL. so these temps are nothing like I'm use to. Feels like Christmas!

Even colder than usual here in Wrightsville, Georgia. 17 with a wind chill in single digits. I was used to this in Maryland but Christmas has been warmer here since I moved. Oh well.
WELCOME TO WINTER HOLIDAYS EVERYONE BLESS ALL WHO ARE...

I froze my fingers....with gloves on.....this morning when I was out feeding our birdies. Snowing lightly yet but nothing significant. Have a great day and stay warm!!

Carol -- at least it NEVER gets TOO cold to feed the birds.
A few blue birds are now coming in to my little deck for that insect suet I bought.
The downy woodpeckers now prefer the insect suet..... whew, it cost 5 times what the
usual suet costs.

I am speaking to people in sunbelt states and reading some of the statements. Is this global warming or just a reminder of the cold winters up north getting ready for the Christmas season. It sure makes cookie baking more fun.

My goodness - here it's warming up.  It's 23  this morning .... that sure seems warm after yesterday.
We're expecting a bit, just a bit, of freezing rain, sleet and snow.

Anyone know the difference in freezing rain and sleet?

To Nancy:
Oh wow!  I had to look into that!  It looks like sleet is like little iceballs attacking us.  Like hail. (/did I spell that right? LOL)

Freezing rain is actually rain that falls when the temp is at a freezing level.
