I log on to VBB less than I did before it changed.  I can't earn brownie points as easily and I'm disappointed with that.  I no longer feel any real incentive to log on.  Posting on for

I log on to VBB less than I did before it changed.  I can't earn brownie points as easily and I'm disappointed with that.  I no longer feel any real incentive to log on.  Posting on forums is not really fun for me.  Sometime I think I should just put a bunch of xxxxxs on a reply just so I can "post"  and earn points?  Am I alone in this feeling?

Susan, Gale is so right!! I, too, felt kind of lost on the old site when it came to the forums. I was on them for awhile and then eventually gave up and just spent time with the recipe sections. But on this new site, I have been having fun posting on the forums and feel like I'm getting to know folks pretty good here! It's fun and yes, there are some truly wonderful people here. I think we can all agree, can't we Gale, that we enjoy each other's company!! Susan, one suggestion I have for you before you give up on VBB is to check out some of the discussions started by Julie. She has a heart of gold and is always helping out others and doing for folks. She's one of the reasons I've enjoyed the forums so much! There's just so many great folks here to interact with....like Nancy, Sharon, Ann, Susan K., Preston, Hunter, Gus, and lots more that won't come to mind at the moment! Give it a try before you give up, Susan! I'm sure you will change your mind! We all love exchanging recipes, sharing ideas and tips, giving each other moral support when needed, and lots more! Nancy! Where are you?! You can also share your thoughts with Susan! Oh yeah! Another thing, Susan, some of us have posted pictures on here. Check them out....post some of yours! That would be sooo neat! Have a great day and a healthy and happy New Year, Susan!

Gale, I am the same.  I visited the site but never posted a reply to any of the conversations.  I don't know why other than it looked "confusing" to me.  Any way with the change I decided to "take the plunge" and join in.  I figured if everyone else was "lost" and having a hard time I wouldn't be so alone in the process.
Amazing that as adults we still have the same feelings that you had as a kid entering a new school or a new grade.
Susan, welcome to the site.  I hope you will give it a few tries before you give up.  You have a whole bunch of "friends" here.

Like Gale and Nikki -- this is a new site for me.... I visited the old site once in a while but didn't really enjoy it of reel good.  Now, on this one, I'm happy.  I HAVE FRIENDS!!   And I have dozens of new recipes, great recipes given by great people.
I don't worry too much about the points, thank goodness!!

Yes Lisa you did get 50 points for posting.  You can check it out on your VBB page.  I too never joined in on conversations on the old site.  Maybe that is the good thing about the new site,  you can join in conversations every day and make new friends, get ideas and new recipes.

Since we don't know what the points will be used for yet just keep logging in.  Maybe VBB will let us know soon.

Do we get 100 points for logging on?  I haven't paid much attention to the number of points I have, but wrote down what I had yesterday and today there are 100 more.
Does anyone know what else we get points for and how many?  I really love reading the recipes, have a lot in my recipe box and have printed off countless, not to mention tried many many of them.  They all get rave reviews when I serve them.  I really love having the recipe bos in the computer.

I hope the points carried over from last year will add up to really great prizes!

I did, too.  But, I guess that they made a change with the new "improved" web site.  I still see my points from last year.  If they will let us get something with the points, then that's a good thing.  One thing didn't seem to change, though.  I didn't see where I got any points for logging in on January 1, which is the same from last year, and the year before that, and the year before that.

I have noticed how many people post "Cute story" or some such thing and not much else in their post.  I guess it's to get the Brownie Points?

You may have already seen this, but more information on how brownie points are issued can be found here http://www.verybestbaking.com/Articles/About-Brownie-Points.aspx.
