In Response to Re: Breakfast? : Nikki,  Thank you, it really is hard but I have a lot of support from my Tops friends. I have lost over 30 pounds now but still have to lose more. It will take longer than 18 months but I will make it. One of my friends at Tops is trying to lose her last 10 pounds and she is really having a rough time!!  I will stay with Tops for the rest of my life just to make sure that I maintain my weight.

The hard part is maintaining the loss.  It is so easy to give in.  I found after losing weight and then gaining it back that if you let it slide a little it is like an avalanche and the slide continues.  One day of treating yourself is fine but you have to get back on track right away and not beat yourself up and figure "all is lost" and give up.  It took me the 18 months to lose 120 pounds and like I have said for the most part I have been able to keep it off. I also realized during my "weight loss journey" that you have to want to lose weight for YOU not for a wedding, a vacation, a reunion or anything else.  Yes you might be able to take some weight off for a while but unless you make it a true lifestyle change you will fall back into old habits.
So if you ever need any encougagement let me know.

My breakfast/lunch is not what to post after the messages above - women losing weight!!
My meal was french toast - first I've had in years and years and bacon.
The bacon was wonderful but the french toast was barely average.
How do you make your french toast?  What's the recipe?

"Same old Spoon size shredded wheat with fresh peaches and topped with the Cinnamon Cheerio type cereal.  I use soy milk and had orange juice.  At work at 10 I had a sinful snack.  I bought an apple fritter which was delicious but probably bad for me.  I figure once in a while it won't hurt.

Nikki, Thank you for your offer and I may have to take you up on that.  I will let you know. You really lost a lot of
weight in 18 months. That is awesome!! I want to lose weight for health reasons. I want to be around for my grand-
children and go places with our motorhome. There is 1 lady in TOPS that has been there over 50 yrs. She lost her
weight when she was young and now she walks with a walker and her mind is going, but she keeps on coming.
When you have to weigh in every Wed. morning, it keeps you on your toes. I think I would slip back if I didn't have
to go every week. Thanks again for your offer. It means a lot to me!

Nancy it is a shame that the French Toast you had after so long was such a disappointment.  I have found that the type of bread you use makes a big difference in the outcome.  I like the denser breads I have found that Natural Ovens of Manitowoc has an "English Muffin Bread" that is good some of the "Potato Breads" are dense.  The dense bread does not get soggy like a white bread does, even if the white bread has been allowed to sit and dry I think it still gets soggy.  If you can't find the ones I mentioned possibly one of the "sandwich breads" the square loaves you see next to the regular bread may work, I think they are not quite as soft.  Or double the calories..look for the Texas Toast bread I think that is cut twice as thick.
