It was about 15 years ago.We have two ,one hundred year old oak trees in our back yard. For some reason I looked up and could not believe my eyes, thousands and thousands of Monarch Butterflies filled the tree tops and were fluttering up above.I'm not sure if they were migrating or someone raised and released them.I haven't seen that since .I'm sure that was a once in a life time occurrence.Just beautiful !

Wow!   The most butterflies I have seen - except on television is at the Botanical Garden here locally.   They have a butterfly habitat with many varieties.  You can go in and walk around with them and sometimes they will land on you for a minute or two.

I love to watch the sunset changing colors.  Especially over the ocean.  God uses all his crayons.  Smile

There have been several of our vacations that I just stand in awe.
The first time I saw the Grand Canyon I just stood there trying to take a picture.  I would look through the lens and it just did not convey the massive work of God and nature I was looking at.
The first time I saw Niagara Falls I had pretty much the same reaction.

In our travels I have seen massive swarms of birds swooping and diving all in unison making fantastic shapes in the sky.  I have no idea what this is called, I know there is a term for it but have forgotten.  But to see hundreds of birds dancing in the sky is a pretty spectacular sight.

A sunrise a sunset.  Both make me glad to be witness to another beautiful day and be thankful that I have lived another.

Not really "nature" but..the laughter of a child. Such pure joy is something we should all experience.

The Aspen leaves on the way to Aspen, Colorado are spectacular, Connie. But seeing the state of Alaska this summer, Mt. McKinley and Denali National Park was even more awesome. Everyone needs to save their pennies and try to visit this spectacular state once in their lifetime.

About 10 years ago,I saw a meteor shower that lasted hours one right after another and sometimes many at one time.Luckily we were at the airport so there were no lights in the area and were able to see them more clearly. There were run way lights of course but that didn't interfer with the sky.I don't know how often that happens but I felt very blessed to see this.

While there have been many beautiful things to see in nature, I think seeing a fox in my backyard this year is pretty special.  That gorgeous creature has been here quite a few times, sunning herself in our yard like it was her home lol.  She even decided to help me out with the fruit by eating some of it and I don't mind in the least.  Since "foxie" has been around, the rabbits and chipmunks that cause havoc in my garden have been non-existent.  A win-win situation lol.

For years when we have gone to Maui everyone has talked about the "green flash" that appears when the sun goes down over the ocean.  For a long while we were beginning to believe that the people who saw it had a couple too many Mai Tais.  A lot of natives have told up that they don't believe it happens, but others have told us that they have seen it.  This trip my husband went out with his very expensive camera almost every evening to catch the sunset.  As a result we have a lot of sunset pictures.  As he was editing them all of a sudden he called me to come and look.  There it was on an enlargement of a sunset the "Green Flash".  And No he did not Photo shop It, it was actually there.  We were amazed!!

Hard to say. It changes from day to day. This morning it is the sunrise. A few month ago it was the hummingbirds and doe with her fauns. I think that we just need to open our eyes and heart to God's gifts.

There are so many things in nature that are beautiful.  I enjoy the colorful leaves in the fall, but have been amazed by the Grand Canyon,
Red Rock Canyon, and black sand beaches in Hawaii as well.
