Our trees are also looking quite bare now. Our little blueberry bushes are now a beautiful shade of bright, dark red, and our huge....and I do mean HUGE.....rosebushes are just turning from green to a yellowish, with a touch of orange mixed in. They are all so pretty!
I agree, Julie....many people do not notice the beauty all around them. My camera goes with me wherever I go....even in the winter as I'm out there in the bitter cold shoveling snow....it's in my pocket! Sometimes my fingers get a bit chilled when my gloves come off to take a picture, but later when I look at the picture, it was well worth it! Just yesterday, in fact, as I was outside working, I noticed the gorgeous sunset with the bright rays from the sun. Got some great shots of it! There's always a picture waiting to be taken somewhere so keep your camera with you, folks! I'm waiting to see one of the black bears we have in our area!!! That's one picture I've never gotten yet!!

Now the trees are starting to look gloomy without their leaves. You are so right time sure flies. My pepere was 88,He said he would blink and another year was gone.I remember being in my math class, the last 5 mins. felt like it would never get here.I guess you can not win.
We also tag our tree, we make a huge thing of it.What is perfect to me, is not to someone else.It takes for ever.We take ribbons, bows and name tags to mark our special tree. one year it took the over 2 hrs. to pick the tree. We go back a month later it is gone. My youngest was 6 at the time, he was heart broken. We finally found another one. all the way home he was thinking the grinch stole our tree.when we got it home and decorated it with our homemade ornaments he felt much better. the seasons change, bringing us chages as well.

Tried replying to your post the other day, Julie, but the post wouldn't "take" so I will attempt it again since today the posts seems to be posting immediately with no problems whatsoever. Don't know how VBB finally did it but a BIG THANK YOU to them!!!
Anyway, what I was going to say was I agree wholeheartedly with you....I, too, love seeing the colored leaves all over the ground and yard. And you're right....it does look like a huge carpet....all the beautiful reds, oranges, and yellows mixed together there. And don't the leaves smell soooo good?!
Every so often I will be outside and find a perfect leaf....just beautiful.....so I bring it in and press it under a big pile of books. One day, as I was walking down the road, there in the middle was a very tiny leaf....perfect condition.....reddish with some orange.
Does anyone else ever do this and press leaves? Just curious!

Hello Carol B.,
I love to collect leaves as I'am walking with my kids.We have a contest. We look for the smallest, biggest, reddest, funniest shape. then we use them to make a fall picture. We have fun. My mom use to be a den leader she did so much using gifts from nature/ the earth. She made yule logs, decorated them , carved out spots for candles.
I love taking photo of the seasons the beauty around me.From different angles.I would lay on the ground under a tree. make sure the sun is around. it looks so cool.really great after a snowstorm...

Gus, that sounds really neat your sister framing the leaves like that! Bet they are beautiful!

Julie, I really like your contest idea....sounds like fun! And making the picture afterwards. There's so much that kids can learn to do just from using simple things like colored leaves, isn't there?
Neat.....I take pictures like that, too, from different angles!!! It's fun, isn't it, to see the great photos we get that way! Can't say as I've ever laid on the ground to take a picture though during a snowstorm! I did get some good shots the other day though of fresh snow on the fuzzy milkweed. I took some of the shots looking up toward the sky. Looks pretty neat!

I love Michigan in the fall - all the vibrant colors and this year it is exceptional.  Bright orange and red colors compliment the green and yellow leaves.  Absolutely beautiful to see God's creation at its best!!

I agree with you on all points, Cheryl! Our fall leaves here were much more vibrant than last year. Problem is they don't last long enough. God's creation is truly beautiful, isn't it?! I love watching the sunsets.....God's masterpiece in the sky looks like a gigantic painting! Absolutely breathtaking at times!
