Hi NIKKi; YES; thy) bars) are A COOKIE! For years THE ONLY bar cookie, I baked was BROWNIES.. .But now I find them ( bars) easier to bake & have less cleanup; only one pan instead of 3 sheets; easier to pkg & freeze for future enjoyment. Drop Cookies seem to disappear too rapidly; too easyto o pp 5 OR 6 "on- the- run". And But bars are easier to control portionsize (one piece ONLY! They pkg & freeze easily for future enjoyemntand aremostly/usually yummy topped w/ "realwhipped cream"OR ice cream
They don't do well in a cookie jar. I i can no longer roll out dough for cutting out cookie shapes; either drops or bars are easier for me,now In summer tmie,I either micro bake bars or bake drops( cook in less time (preferable /nice on a hot day).
In Response to Re: Is a Bar a Cookie:
Hi Nikki! I think and voted that a bar is a cookie. Cookies come in different shapes like people do ergo bars(a different shape) are cookies. After all bars and cookies are both baked in the oven usually. You have a very debatable question here but it all comes down to taste and I don't know anybody who does not like a cookie or two or three.
