OUR CITY GOES ALL OUT FOR THE HOLIDAYS..THEY HAVE THE GREEN DECORATED, THEY HAVE A LIGHTING OF THE GREEN ON A FRIDAY ...ON THE FOLLOWING SUNDAY A MASSIVE PARADE....IT IS REALLY NICE.

MANY YEARS AGO I  TOOK MY THREE KIDS, THEY WERE ALL UNDER 10 YRS. OLD..IT WAS FREEZING..WE CAME UPON THE MANGER SCENE, MY YOUNGEST AT THE TIME WAS IN HIS STROLLER WRAPPED IN BLAKETS....NICE AND COZY....HE STARTED TO GET UPSET SEEING BABY JESUS IN THE MANGER WITH ONLY A DIAPER ON...HE WANTED TO GIVE HIS BLANKET TO THE BABY..I LET HIM OUT. HE AND HIS BROTHER PLACED HIS FAVORITE BLANKET ON JESUS....HE LEFT ONE OF HIS TOY AND HIS JUICE BOTTLE...THE THREE OF THEM EACH KISSED HIS CHEEK....IT WAS THE SWEETEST THING, IT MADE ME CRY....EVERY TIME I WOULD PASS BY I ALWAYS SMILED.....IT STILL MAKES MY HEART WARM.....THE SWEETEST OF GESTURES FROM A CHILD.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL......

That was such a sweet thing for your children to do.  I hope your officials left that blanket there.  So many places now don't allow mangers to be displayed for fear of offending someone and I think that is so sad.

That is the sweetest story.  We have had trouble in our town of somebody stealing baby Jesus from a display in front of one of the churches.  Now they have to take him in every night.  Isn't that sad?   I keep wondering what is wrong with some people!!

In the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex, they had 6 stolen last week but, a local company that got tired of hearing about them being taken, donated GPS sensors and had installed them in some of them. They located all 6 of them at the same residence.

Crime has gotten terrible and people no longer have a conscious. Armed guards have to stay at the storage area where the Toys For Tots are stored or loose them. A family was at a funeral for their teenaged son today and came home to find they had been robbed and many of the deceased sons items were gone. I hope they catch the perpetrators and give them the maximum.

Yes it is very sad , To steal baby Jesus. We do have many good, kind wonderful people in the world..I read in the paper this family they loight up their entire yard each year. They have a well people put in donations that will go to the needy, someone dumped out the well, stole the money....wow. Then you have some earth angel that saw the story and double the amount..The holidays bring out some scrooges but I do think more earth angels. Trying to look at the bright side...

You are so right there, Julie! But it is sad that some people can be so cruel and disrespectful. As my mom always says, "they will receive their just rewards!"

Hi Julie,I just have to tell you,I told my Husband about your children and it touched him also.We both love children,we have two boys of our own.My husband worked for Rainbow babies and childrens hospital in Cleveland Ohio,he was a Paramedic on the Green machine, their transport service. Some of the things that he has seen just makes us so much closer to your own kids. There were times that he would call me from work and tell me to kiss and hug our boys because of something that had just happened. You are a great Mom and it shows in your childrens actions, always keep them close to your heart. Happy Holidays to you and your family.

Hi Julie,
That is such a dear story..A story that warms your heart. As a teacher I tell my students to go home and thank their parents.Give them a hug, a call at work..I agree with you Gale there are things that make us feel grateful for what we have in life. The simple things, a hug, a kiss
Three Little words " i love you". PLease, thank you and your welcome. You would be surprised how many students never say those words.

merry christmas to all........

Aw, Gale, I agree Julie is a great mom and has been a wonderful example in teaching her children. But you also sound like a great mom! I know what you mean.....there are so many children who simply need a hug and kiss to let them know how much they are loved. Sadly, some kids don't receive that...or enough of it, whatever the case.
We were brought up to say please, thank you, and you're welcome....it's just the normal way I do things now. But Preston, I agree, it's sad that many kids today don't seem to know those words....or the words I love you! I think many times parents are so busy working, earning money to keep their family going, that they neglect spending time with their kids to teach them these things.....and that is so sad. They are only kids once...and they are our future leaders!
