I had a 75 cents coupon on Dixiie Crystal Sugar that expired December 5th Sunday. I again found a four pound bag of Dixie Crystal  Sugar on sale for $2.50. The store doubles coupons therefore I paid one dollar.

Oh yes, we coupon every week as well. My wife does it mostly because lets face it. How many men do you know that can spot a good deal even if it's in black and white, on paper in front of them? Well, I am sure there are a lot, but I am not one of them. Hoever, in our small rural suburbian town, we still have a few stores that don't take the coupons you can print out online and have missed a few good deals because of that.

Besides, in todays economy we cannot offord not to be couponers. We have to save whenever and whereever we can. I think they should also have gas coupons in the paper as well. That would be awesome.

Gale, you're my kind of shopper....I used to be able to do that, but can't seem to find that many coupons anymore for things we actually use. And yes, our Price Chopper store has a rewards program. For every $50 spent, you get 10 cents off gas at a Sunoco station!

Hi Carol, our Giant Eagle store has the gas program also. They also double any coupon up to 99 cents or $1.98.I fill all my prescriptions there  and we get points for that also.I do go to other stores in the area if their prices are better on the items that I need. This affords us to go out to eat once in awhile and spend the money on the things we want or need.I just wish I would have started doing this when we first got married 31 years ago.I always buy more than I need and give some to my son and his wife and I do donate some of the items.Where my husband works every year they have a shoe box Christmas and these are donated to charity.I put tooth paste and tooth brushes and other toiletries in them, some of the things I got for free with my coupons. One Easter I got a great deal on beans,my one neighbor likes to make re fried beans,so I filled a basket with the beans and left it at their back door from the Easter bunny.I didn't want them to know that I did this but one of the other neighbors saw me.I love the street I live on but it is like living in Mayberry, everyone knows everyone and they see everything. LOL Embarassed You can't get away with anything.

YES!  I love coupons and always shop with them.  I look for items that are on sale and I have a coupon for and stock up whenever possible.  It saves us a lot of money.

FRAN M;   I keep a runninglistofitemsI need( not in my freezer or pantry. When the store's ad appeas, make a istof o items neded & on sale.I then go trough  my  coupons  &  putthemw/myweeek'sshoping list.Ido mylist onmt pc; & include "COUPON"  ( & it's value) for all itemshaving a matching  coupon. Today,I spent $36 & have saved$7.50; w/coupons;[$42.50  beforecoupons) buying only those items originallyon my needed /" wish" list orthatI know we will use up soon; before thecoupons expire at the end of this month. Innocent I love matching up RAINCHECKS & COUPONS.If the coupon expires beforethe item is back in stock; my store refuses to accpt it( according to the manufacturer)  they have that right.I make a"formal"  complaint to the store mgr. & write it off as "just the way things are"

I look at the sale papers, write out my list then look for coupons that I can use for the items on my list.   If I have a coupon for an item that I get a raincheck for, I make sure I put the raincheck with the coupon(even if coupon is expired, the date is on the raincheck and I can use it because the item was out of stock before the exp.date). Our area only doubles up to $ .50, but it adds up.

Connie, my sister does that.....she goes thru her newspaper coupon inserts and then passes the rest of the coupons to me. I go thru them, cut out what I will use, and then pass what's left on to my cousin. We just keep them recycling to others!
However, for me, the days of using 30 to 40 coupons each shopping trip seems to be over. Went shopping yesterday in Walmart and only had 5 coupons to use! Was nice tho when I later went into our Price Chopper. I had a 75 cent coupon off McCormick gravy mixes. It was on sale for $1 so I got it for free with  my coupon! That store doubles up to 99 cent coupons! They also had a store coupon in their flyer to get a bag of Gold Medal flour for 99 cents! Can't beat that and even though I still had an extra bag of it at home, it will definitely be used with all this Christmas cookie baking!!

Wish all manufacturers would make their coupons good for 6-12 months.  Too often they expire before one can use most of lthem.
