Not me, but the risk is there since my dad is diabetic.

I've had diabetes since '93. Type 2. I remember as It was Christmas week. In the last 6 months I've completely gotten off all meds for diabetes. I've been taking cinnamon before every meal and have gotten perfect (for me) sugar readings. I can't even pinch off a tiny quarter of of a pill and take it as I would have to eat 'til forever. I still carry my meter with me at all times but it has been nice not to have to worry about testing! Being like this is like hanging in balance though and you have to really "be a good girl" and watch what you eat because if you eat wrong it can't be fixed with meds. I've gotten so I only test when I wonder if it's a heat flash from "the "pause" or am I high. I also dropped 40lbs without even trying. I first started using cinnamon with my meds and then I gradually increased how many and with what to take it with. It's a learning prosess but I finely got it right with it all and don't even fill my prescriptions anymore. I'm kind of talking a bit much about this but I thought someone might be curious and would want to hear about it.

My diabetes had gotten pretty bad. Things weren't doing a good job and after a so long with diabetes it was going to be time to think about moving on to shots and shots send fear right through me! I had been taking Glipizide, Metforman and the shot called Byetta which isn't insulin but they had only found one way to give the med and it was through shots-it was the first one out of this class of meds but now I see that there's others. The cinnamon I buy is a high dose so you want to be careful at first to see if it upsets the tummy. At first it was just one and then I moved on to take two before meals. Also chromium plays a large part and I found a bottle of cinnamon with chromium in it.

One other factor in this since I was taking the med Byetta it had been found that this med helps to repair the damage that diabetes has caused. I didn't believe it would do that but it must have. My doctor is completely baffled and decided that this was a large part in getting "better." I am a firm believer in Byetta!
