I love seeing all the pretty clever aprons that are out there today!

Me too!  I wish they would become an everyday addition to our present society.  Too often, we forget what our Mothers taught us.  My Mother ALWAYS wore an apron, and I mean ALWAYS!  She wouldn't leave the house until she matched up an apron to what she was wearing.  I reallize that would never happen in this day and age; but perhaps we will get back to basics and always wear one in the kitchen.

We have very frequent dinners at church and the top drawer in the kitchen cabinets have aprons!   The women working in the kitchen are wearing their 'Sunday clothes' and really need aprons.

I confess, I have two aprons standing ready when needed.  My mother never wore an apron but then again, she wasn't a baker.  I love having them around and use them often.

Since I usually wear older clothes when I'm at home, I rarely need an apron.  But I do have some in the linen closet just in case, including the one from VBB.  Sometimes I wear them when I'm cooking for the holidays so I don't get stains on my "good" clothes lol.

I have a few aprons, more "utilitarian" bib type rather than the type you saw Mrs Clever wearing.
Do I wear them? Noooo      Should I wear them? Yes!!!
I suppose when I get to making something messy I should but I like to think that I won't be that messy.  Then again stuff like tomato sauces do splash.
I am going to make a BBQ pork tomorrow so I will wear my apron.  (no grill so it will be low and slow in the oven)

This is my pattern, also, H.M. I don't like the confinement of the apron, but don't want those stains on my dressy clothes, so succumb to using an apron on those rare occasions.

I have 2 really sturdy Williams-Sonoma aprons I use because I am such a slob when baking.  I am also using them when I put bleach in the washer, as I have so many clothes with bleached out spots!  I really try to be careful, but somehow I seem to get bleach (or flour when baking) all over me!
