In Response to Re: Wedding Gifts??:
Yesterday I spent very much time on the 'net looking for cookie jars............... my goodness, cookie jars cost a fortune!!   This morning - after a dentist visit - I went to Walmart and bought a nice glass jar with a tight lid -- it was $7.99  . But I forgot the step stool

I started a cookie jar collection and I have found 99% of them at resale stores.  I look for interesting ones and I think the most I paid for one was $10.00 (it is a spectacular bunny with a big floppy hat)
When we moved into this house I had 2 cookie jars from the old house and I had no place to put them and I was going to get rid of them at a garage sale.  I put them on the top of the cabinets and my Grandson noticed right away. Wandering through a resale store I saw an interesting one and got it put it up on top of the cabinets.  He noticed right away. Thus began the game to see if he would notice when I added a "new" one.  He picked out each one. I have added 2 more that he has never seen and probably never will :(
Find a cookie jar that looks good, wash it and fill it with cookies!.

I forgot to mention painting on the jar
my d.i.l  does wonderful free-hand things on acrylic or glass surfaces
I have done some with stencils     walmart has some wonderful and fun paints  if you want to personalize the jar
