Last night went OK ... I talked to the moms and they said I should go ahead.  Then there's today ~sigh~ .  Thanks for listening. Feb. 14, 2006, was my first brain surgery to remove a grade ll oligodendroglioma tumor from my left temporal lobe. lol - brain surgery wasn't the worst thing that happened that day/week/month.  It was a very difficult time. And I pulled through!!!  Thank God.

Nancy, I am so glad that you pulled through! God has plans for you on this earth.
You are helping children and doing a lot of things for others. I hope you have many
more years to live. You also have a great sense of humor and I would really miss
that. I'm sorry, but I'm still laughing over the choc. truffle cookies. Did you get to try
any of the cookies? Nancy, I hope you have a Happy Valentine's Day and many
more.

Hi Nancy,That's great that you were able to do the project with the kids,I know you would have been disappointed otherwise.It is unfortunate that we have these crosses to bare,but it does make us stronger and a little wiser.You are a good person Nancy and you do wonderful things for a lot of people,you make them happy and in turn that makes you happy.Smile God loves you Nancy!

Nancy, I am making the choc truffle cookies right now. The choc and butter is cooling. Making sure the
cats are out of the kitchen. I have the 2nd cup of choc chips on counter. I am double checking
everything. We are having Valentine's dinner Wed. night because we pigged out on Sat. night which
included fried chicken. I have to weigh in Wed. morning at Tops Club. I'm thinking about making a
half recipe of the cream puff cake.

Carol -- you're gonna' love those cookies ... a new recipe like that is such a joy.
Yesterday I baked chocolate chip, white chip, Snickers peanut butter and gingersnaps.
Tonight I'm making two batches of the chocolate truffles to take to church tomorrow.

(on the way home I'm going to rob a bank to afford all this stuff - lol)

We had plans to g to our fave Meiterranean place; close to home so no TOLL ROADS or TRAFFIC.
Service is always good( warm & welcoming even though they are usually busy.
We both knew what we wanted( pre-agreed upon:
Meals always start out w/ their hot crusty bread served w/ evoo & a minced herb  paste for  mixing &  dipping the bread
a smallGreek salad to share; hubby got the pepperoncinis & black olives,I got most of the baby greens.Kiss
eggplant parmesean panini to share
 it comes w/ a fresh pasta salad, more pepperoncinis & black olives; feta  cheese & sweet  grape tomatoes (all  for hubby)
 an appetizer size calamari fritti( fried calamari w/ both marinara sauce and  garlic & herb  mayo fo dipping).
fresh lemonade &  hot strong Greek style coffee
Now what to order for  dessert to go w/ that great coffee?
baklava cheesecake?;
tirimisu?;
 grand marnier canolis;
 [[previously had them all & all terrific!
 New to us item on the dessert menu:
chocolate bowl:
a semi sweet bowl of chocolate filled w/
chocolate mousse; flourless chocolate cake & "extra goodies".
It did not take long to decide; on the chocolate bowl:
 a grapefruit sized bowl of semi sweet chocolate, filled w/ rich chocolate mousse; fudgie chocolate cake; a sheet of 2-tone chocolate bark,  all  placed on a chocolate  drizzled platter; surrounded by red raspberries; blueberries & topped w./
fresh strawberriesSurprised
2 spoons came with  it & we dove right in
Each spoonfull was a tastey delight of chocolate wonders; each taste even better than the previous one.

The bowl itself was not thin & fragile , as expeected; it was solid & required 2( nearly3) hands to break it apart.Coffee reflls were also needed to fully enjoy the melting mocha delight( coffee & chocolate melting together (in our very pleased mouths) .
The meal including a well deserved 20+% tip cost as much as last
week's groceries but  it was a romantic meal for two we won't soon forgetMoney mouthSmileKiss

we went outforlunch  to our fave place to eat &orderd all our fave dishes to share.
When we got home a pkg. was here for me: 2 pairs of earrings( one silver & one gold) that I  had admired on a web site.Also 2 charms one a porcelain peacock eye;the other a silver  tree of life; both to go on the silver necklace being custom made for me w/an easier clasp for my aging aching fingers to be able to fasten.Hubby's very talented cousin makes jewelry.She did her best to get thee entire collection to me in time for Valentine's day.But I had delayed in deciding until itwas too late to get a custom item done on time.  Her Dad; hubby's cousin just underwent a heart proceedure & understandably she was not able to do the custom work on time. We have not seen her Dad for nearly 50 years &  did not expect her to go out of her way as much as she did to ccomodate my needs when I had not given her  enough notice. Our  49th anniversary is coming up soon & I told her that the necklace w/ " a few more charms" wil lbe "the perfect gift" for me. Her design is very i nnovative: one necklace w/ a few or  many charms to add, using a simple toggle attaching method.I already have Pandora earrings w/ a similar feature.I will be able to easiy put together many sets  of earrings & necklaces , to cordinate w/ outfits year 'round.Hubby knows I like to " custom make my own jewelry & his cousin has designed an entire collection to help women like  mysef do that easily w/ minimal effort or expense.SmileMoney mouthKiss

Nancy, Oh my gosh!!!!! The choc. truffle cookies turned out awesome!!! I was really careful
to not bang anything and kept the cats out of the kitchen!!!! I also made a half of the cream
puff cake and that really turned out great too!!!! Made brownie points with hubby!!!! He loved
both of them. Those cookies are really so awesome!!! A couple of our cats liked the cool whip
on the cream puff cake!!!  Two cats were sitting right next to me when I was eating a piece of
the cream puff cake.  Spoiled cats!!!!!
