DO YOU HAVE A REAL TREE OR ARTIFICIAL TREE?

When we first got married we had a real tree every year---a scotch pine. After our first son was born we found out that he was allergic to the pine, so we got an artificial tree and put it in front of our picture window in the living room. Several years ago when my husband was diagnosed with MS our son bought us a small artificial tree which stands on the ledge of our fireplace.

We have never purchased a real tree for Christmas. Through the years we have kept up with the various types of fads that were introduced with artificial trees. We have had the color wheels, the musical tree base, one touch set up trees, pre-lite...you name it...we had it. We are still currently using an artificial tree. They have been the most suitable and conveninet choice for us for each holiday season. However, we have kept one thing alive...all of the ornaments that we used on each of the trees is a handmade ornament that I have personally made and collected all the time that we have been married. So, in fact, we do have some real treasures displayed on our artificial tree yearly.

The first 5 yr. we had a real tree, then with 2 kids, we worried about the tree drying out and catching fire so we went to the artificial. With the artificial, we save a tree and can keep it up from Dec. 12 to Jan 6 and not worry about it drying out. We had the first artifical tree 20 yr. and gave it to older son and the 2nd. one will be 19 yr and looks new.

When our kids were home, we had a real tree. It was a big deal going to get the Christmas tree. Now my children are living in 2 different states but come home for Christmas, we have a small table tree. We find that is the best way as we live in an apartment.

An Artificial tree is so much easier. Just bring it down from the attic and set it up. No watering, No needles, and you can have it up longer.

Real - it smells the best! One of the pleasures of the holiday is to go out into a field and cut down a cedar that grows wild. They look like something you would see in an old settlers cabin and very few simple ornaments are enough.

Real outside and fake inside. So far no one has been able to tell. I use those little tree car fresheners hung inside the branches where it isn't seen.

Real, always. When I was growing up, my dad and I walked the couple of blocks to a neighborhood florist and took hours picking just the right tree. Then we would lug it back home, singing Christmas carols as we went. Although there is no place nearby where we could walk to pick out a tree, our "kids" (ages 31 and 34) still join us for the yearly ritual, and won't even consider the idea that mom and dad might like an artificial one now...I don't really mind though - it is a long held family tradition, and nothing smells better than a fresh tree...except maybe my cookies baking!

When our children were small, we had real Christmas tees. Now we are older and ourchildren are in their forties, we all have artifical trees. The trees are slimmer too - wish we were. Mary Ann S.

We have a fake tree but when the kids were little we had a real one I love the real ones but so much work now with grown kids the fake will have to do I also have a 3 ft fake tree that only has cat ornaments as we love our cats. Christmas is the best time of the year.

we have a fake one.... use todot he ral trees when the kiods were younger...... the last time we had a real tree I had to beg the kids to go with me to buy one... hubby was wroking and didn't have the time to go with us.....so the next year I bought a fake one and we have had it since......

A couple days ago I wandered around Lowe's and carefully checked out their selection of artificials ....... so many beautiful things.
There was one very, very tall, very skinny, very dense. Oh, it was beautiful ... even had lights. I couldn't make myself make a decision ............................

We had a real tree for years at the insistance of our youngest son....who by the way is very allergic....now that he is grown and we are empty nesters we have a beautiful artificial tree....pre-lit of course!!!

REAL , LOVE THE SMELL. THE FAKE ONES TODAY LOOK GREAT. WE HAVE SOME TYPE OF TREE IN EACH ROOM. THE KIDS HAD THEIR OWN TREE. 2-4 FT. THEY DECORATED IT WITH THINGS THEY MADE OR LIKED..MY SON KYLE ALWAYS HAD RED SOX STUFF ON HIS TREE
MY GRANDPARENTS HAD THIS SILVER TREE WITH BLUE BALLS. MY OTHER ONE HAD A FAKE TREE WITH ONE OF THOSE SPINNING LIGHT CHANGING IT DIFFERENT COLORS. MY DAD WOULD WAIT UNTIL CHRISTMAS EVE TO PUT UP THE TREE,SEVEN SMALL KIDS MADE IT TOUGH FOR THE TREE TO REMAIN BEAUTIFUL.HE AND SANTA ALWAYS PUT THE TOYS TOGETHER. HAPPY HOLIDAY. WE ARE GOING TO TAG OUR TREE SOON. THAT IS THE BEST PART, THE FAMILY TOGETHER. WE COME HOME FOR COOKIES AND COCO.PUT ON CHRISTMAS MUSICA ND / OR MOVIES...GREAT TIMES. OF COURSE I TAKE GREAT PICTURES
