I use 2 big cans of Hawaiian Punch, 1 - 2 liter bottle of 7-Up and then I put dollops of rainbow sherbet on top. I always get compliments on it! I will even take an ice cube tray and put a Maraschino cherry in each well and then fill with water, freeze and put that in the punch also.

I remember a punch that consisted of frozen pineappke juice and made with gingerale . It was so good when I was growing up
It was punch made f or a wedding . It tasted the best .

Nancy G...

Don't throw the cherry juice away, I would put that in the wells too, then add water and freeze. That also added a nice touch and taste to the punch!

I'm glad you liked the idea! I got that idea from my Mom, she would do that over the Christmas holidays and I thought that was such a treat when I was little!

Susan --- why haven't you told me this sooner??!!??
I use LOTS of marachino cherries. (for cookies) They are hard to find without stems and I don't want to pay for stems. So when I find them without - I buy as many jars as I can afford.
I've just tossed the juice and chopped, chopped, chopped. Now I'll start freezing the juice.
Thanks. Isn't this board a great place to get new ideas?

I've made this punch many times for showers and parties:

1 cup hot tea
1 cup granulated sugar
1 large container frozen orange juice concentrate, softened
2 2-liter bottles of gingerale OR sprite OR 7-UP
1 half-gallon container of rainbow sherbet
ice cubes (1-2 trays or about 4 cups)

n large punch bowl, add hot tea and sugar. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Add orange juice concentrate and stir until dissolved. Add ice cubes. Slowly pour in one bottle of gingerale. Drop small scoops of sherbet into punch (you may not use all of it). Depending on size of punch bowl, you can add more gingerale now, or add when bowl is half empty. Pour slowly, as the sherbet will cause the soda to be extra fizzy.

I always get compliments on how pretty the punch looks and how light and refreshing it is. If you use a small scoop for the sherbet (melon ball scoop, not ice cream scoop) then you can include scoops in each glass.

Another way to serve this is to place one small scoop of sherbet into each glass (instead of in the punch bowl) and then pour punch into each glass. I did this for a party at work and it was less messy than serving from the punch bowl.

Egg Nog Punch

Ingredients

1-3/4 to 2 qt. French vanilla or cinnamon ice cream

2 qt. dairy eggnog or canned eggnog, chilled (8 cups)

1 liter cream soda, chilled

Peppermint sticks, cinnamon sticks, and/or candy canes (optional)

1/8 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions

Place ice cream in an extra-large punch bowl. Add half the eggnog. Stir and mash

mixture using a potato masher until ice cream is melted and mixture is well combined.

Stir in remaining eggnog. Slowly pour in cream soda, stirring to combine. To each glass

add a peppermint stick, cinnamon stick, or candy cane. Sprinkle lightly with cinnamon

(about 1/8 teaspoon per serving). Makes about 24 (6-ounce) servings.

I made this punch at a Christmas Potluck at work and it was gone in about 10 minutes:

2 cans frozen cranberry juice
1 large bottle cranberry juice
1 large bottle cranberry gingerale
1 each orange/lemon sliced for garnish
Frozen cranberries for garnish

If you have a bundt pan you can freeze some water in bottom, add some lemon/orange/cranberries and some more water and freeze, then place complete ring in the punch bowl. Hope you enjoy if you make it.

I used the pre-made punch you buy in the freezer case at the store. You add ginger ale and sherbert or fruit. I never thought about just making it with ginger ale without their starter punch. It is probably just sugar and food coloring.
