There are STILL no shelled peanuts in this area.   Now I'm wondering what I should do ........ Do I buy more of those very good jumbo expensive peanuts IN THE SHELL or should I order the very expensive shelled peanuts from Hampton? I just have to make more peanut brittle.

you should try                http://houstonpecan.com                because they are a wholesaler----------they are probably cheaper than hampton's and everything they have is always very fresh----and they usually have several kinds of peanuts

They've told on the news that the price of peanuts and everything made of peanuts (such as peanut butter) would be going up this year due to bad weather. I can hope that the price will go down when conditions improve.

Sorry to hear you're havin g trouble finding raw peanuts Nancy.  Apparently most of the raw peanuts come from Georgia, like most commercial pecans, and between the drought on one end and the hurricanes on the other they didn 't do well this year.  I'm waiting to hear what else will get blamed on the weather lol.

did you know that over 50% of the pecan crop comes from texas?----------------- and we have been in drought conditions for roughly 3 yrs--------------if i look east it is all pecan trees-----an old orchard of 3-4" paper shells that was subdivided -----------------the last pecans we got were in 2008--------------and some whole trees have been lost due to these conditions and in hurricane ike in 2008
