Some of my favorite dishes that I like to make is Pasta Salad (always a hit), Corn Fritters (Mom's recipe) and a variety of spreadable with crackers or cubed bread.

Desserts that I always make is my Apple Cake or a Melon/Fruit Salad.

I try to make dishes that I know will not spoil if it is a hot day.  Try to keep it light!

I don't really have any special recipes or dishes for Memorial Day.  We usually just grill some burgers.

There will be burgers and dogs for sure.

Strawberry trifle is easy to make I really don't have a recipe, but here is how I make it . One yellow box cake,.2 boxes of strawberries sliced, one container of sugar free Marzetti's strawberry glaze, 2 box's of vanilla pudding cook and serve,NOT INSTANT, 2 containers of cool whip. Bake the yellow mix as directed on the box,let this cool completely, slice the strawberries and mix with the strawberry glaze,Make the vanilla cook and serve pudding according to the directions and put this in the fridge to cool down.I assemble this in a large clear glass bowl, cut the cake into small pieces and lay some on the bottom of the bowl, then a layer of strawberries,a layer of pudding ,then a layer of cool whip, just keep layering and top it off with a layer of cool whip and then garnish with some sliced strawberries I refrigerate this at least 8 hours or over night It's a very pretty desert. You can really make up any kind of trfle just use your imagination. My son just made a blueberry trifle,he made blueberry muffins and used fresh blueberries, cool whip and vanilla pudding. What about a black forest trifle using chocolate cake, chocolate pudding, cool whip and cherry pie filling.Or a banana split trifle ,the sky is the limit with this.

No real plans yet..
I will probably make pasta salad.  Easy and very good, I just hope the salami I like is on sale!
I would prefer a steak over burgers but it depends on what others want.
As for dessert, I just happened to see a recipe for a Strawberry Pretzel Salad that sounds very good so that just may make an appearance.

Gail...

Oh my, that sounds good!  I do make a Black Forest Trifle and that is very good!  I saw a recipe to make a Creme Brulee similar to this!  I have that marked as a recipe I want to try making.

Thank you!

This is how I make my Pasta Salad; I use the Trio pasta and then I add green pepper, cherry tomatoes, Zesty Italian Dressing and Salad Supreme.  I have already added cubed cheese and pepperoni to the salad.

I always like to get new ideas!
