One of this years resolution was to go to lunch more often with friends.  I don't have a hard time with that resolution as I'm off in a few minutes to lunch with a girlfriend who just had a baby in March of last year.  I can't wait to see the little one.  I am sooooo blessed to still have people who actually want to be around me!  LOL  I'm so bad that the priest at our Church has not put me in charge of starting a Prayer Shawl Ministry.  I don't knit or crochet as I get myself tied up in knots other ways!  LOL

LOL -- Elsa, I hang out with my funny old friends for breakfast ... it's a great time and we start every meal with a prayer thanking God for the food and each other.
I  wish you a glorious time your friend and the little one.

Don't you wish a bunch of us from this forum could get together for lunch ever-so-often?

Nancy...

That would be so neat to a VBB reunion!  What fun...maybe Nestle would be so kind and sponsor one!  Hint Hint!!

Nancy, I agree Breakfast with friends is really a great way to get together.  It also doesn't mess up the whole day!!  Some of us who walk together at a local park occasionally get together for breakfast after our walk.  We go somewhere like Denny's so we don't have to get dressed up.  It is casual and fun. My husband always wants to go, but I tell him he would have to walk with us first.  That is a deal killer for him.  He would rather ride his bike.

Great use for brownie points, a breakfast or lunch for all of us "dedicated VBB contributors".

Seriously, I get together with a group I used to work with several times a year and we have a great time and always say we should do this more often.  It is great for the "Mental Health" to get together and talk and vent a bit.  Always some problem is solved or at least lessened a bit.  I wonder if we can deduct such gatherings as a medical expense?
It is amazing the world problems that could be solved around a pot of coffee or tea.  Toss in a few cookies or a slice of cake and there is nothing that can't be accomplished.

Seems all my close friends have passed away and I haven't found anyone yet to come close to being a close friend.

John, since you apparently live in a much warmer part of the U.S. I think it would be wonderful of you to "host" a gathering.  All of us form the northern clime are itching for a bit of warmer weather.  So I nominate you to set a date and we will all be there.  Nancy I am sure will bring cookies, I am sure we can do a "Post" to sign up to bring goodies.
I am sure after our gathering you will have more friends than you could shake a stick at.

I agree.  John where do we send our resume for "Friend"?  It has been so long since I have had to do a resume it may have many gaps.
I can give you a bit of a run down now.
I am loyal.
I am trust worthy.
(I am starting to sound like a dog or a girl scout.)
Anyway I think you have more friends than you realize.
Although my husband has always said, "I have many acquaintance's but only a few true friends" I guess I am like that as well, I have a few real true, "call in the middle of the night because it's an emergency" type friends.

John, I agree with what has been said.  You do have a lot of friends here.  When we don't hear from you on the site we begin to worry.  You are our friend, even though you have never met us.  We feel as if we've known you for a long time.

Take care.
