OH YES!!!!!      AND SPARKLING BRIGHTLY

i love christmas and ALL the trimmings       and wish i could keep them up year round!!
my MR. CHRISTMAS musicals  are displayed in my tv armoire yearround        i have a carousel , a merry-go-round and santa's toy shop   and sometimes i just turn them on and sit watching and listening

last sunday my son and g.s. came and put up all the rooftop lights and part of the outside stuff and set up the tree  and brought all the christmas boxes in out of my shed because i'm not supposed to lift them

yesterday i had my cleaning lady's son's girlfriend         come to help me finish the outdoor garland and lights on the porch rails     and put out all my lovely things inside     lots of snowmen    snow globes   trees and many poinsettias red white and silver   and finish decorating the tree

we didn't get the garland and lights on the front porch because even tho we had 3 staplers and about 7 boxes of staples between us none of the staples fit         a nice neighbor had one strip of staples that fit and we got the back done              so now i have to go to walmart for staples

by the way           All of my outdoor lights are LED  for the 6th year now      and the lights only require one cord to go up for all of them

No, no lights and no tree again this year.
I get worried about my husband.  So many of the things I have read say that decorating can be confusing and sometimes dangerous. (I have to stop him from eating Styrofoam apples from displays)
If I want a dose of Christmas decorations all I have to do is look out the window and see the houses up the street.  Also my Daughter's house is decorated to the hilt so I can get my "fix" there.

Wow - Nellie, I wish I lived closer.
Nikki - I don't decorate either - different reasons but same actions.

No decorations here.....same reasons as Nikki.  It does bother me a bit.....I used to decorate every available space in our house.  But, that was ages ago.....(this is our 55th Christmas together), and it's probably time to "get over it".  Not many in our "Condo Block" decorate either.....must be a sign of old age!  My daughter lives just a mile away, and she decorates like I used to.....so guess I'll pay her a few visits this Holiday Season!
I hope everyone will have a Blessed Christmas and a Joyous New Year!!

I used to go to the attic to get the tree..
I used to put the tree up..
I used to decorate the tree...
I used to wrap the presents under the tree...
I used to un-decorate the tree
I used to take the tree down..
I had to box it all up again and bring it back up tot he attic.
I don't miss all that.
What I do miss is how pretty it looked while it was up.

We got the first artificial tree when live trees became very expensive then I sort of liked the idea of not vacuuming needles up until July.  Problem with the artificial trees is they are so very heavy. It is almost impossible for me to drag it from one location to the other.  It now lives in the box in my basement.  I should find some organization to donate it to but I keep thinking one day I will put it up again.

Christmas is my favorite holiday as well. I decorate inside and outside a lot, and get caught up with the materialism, but I also try hard to remember the reason for the season. It brings deep happiness to my soul.

My son put up our tree last night..My son starting doing this on his own a few years ago for me because he knows it makes me happy Most of our family members who have passed away did so around this time and it is very hard on me..We now have decorations that are safer to have since we have the two dogs (My cat used to like to climb inside the tree lol!) The two dogs were so cute they were sitting on my recliner just watching my son put up the tree.I have several boxes of doggie treats which will be under the tree for the dogs.I love watching them open their presents.I think they like opening their presents almost as much as their gifts!

Christmas is our least favorite season.  I decorate some times and some times not at all.  This year I did decorate a bit because next year my husband will be deployed.  I do however love Christmas music so the CD player is loaded and I listen to it while reading, baking, cooking, or cleaning!!

I get my Christmas "fix" thanks to one of the radio stations that plays Christmas music non stop this time of year.  When I want music that is good for a few songs.
My next "fix" is thanks to Hallmark channel I love all the Christmas movies.  Most very predictable, some a tear jerker and some are funny but they are all heart warming and just the touch I need sometime.

Yes my yard is full. I love to decoratefor Christmas.
I have a lot of outside stuff. My kids are always getting
me something else for the yard for me instead  of something
to set around in my house for Christmas.

I've been working on "helping" the kids (5 to 12) make decorations for the Christmas play at church.  In addition to the 7' cardboard tree we're decorating two play "living rooms".
Here at home I made a wreath for the front door.

Hubby put the artificial tree up last week and throughout the week, I decorated it.  Hubby also set up his village which is always charming.  He has a flare for decorating with the village.  Yesterday, I finally got with it and finished out the decorations.  We have now outside decorations here.  When we lived in NY, we did have lights on a few trees but nothing elaborate.  Can't find the wreath for the front door.  Between last year and this, it vaporized somewhere!!  Guess I'll head off this week to find a replacement.  Other than a spotlight of the door with the wreath, that will be the only outside decorations.

The tree is up with white lights on.  I hope to finish putting more ornaments on this morning.

Do yourself a huge favor and wait until the week before Christmas for the Wreath or wait until after Christmas.  I think the prices will drop the closer to the holiday,  If you wait until after and obviously get a artificial one you can get one decorated real inexpensively and some of them look good through the winter not just for Christmas.
