Carol - I promise you're going to love this stuff.   Tonight on my way home from church I'm going to WalMart to get some lemon drops.
Verlee's suggestions sounds so good.
And I think I'll split that melted stuff in half - use lemon drops in half and try red hots in the other.

Nancy,   Oh that bark looks so pretty and tastes so good! I used the pastel M&M's
and it was so fast and easy!! I think it would really be good with the Nestle milk choc.
and the dark choc. that you have been hoarding. We're going camping this weekend.
Sukie, Speedi, and Tigger are going in the motorhome with us. When we get back on
Sunday, all 3 cats will be depressed for about a day because they have to put up with
the rest of the cats. These 3 just love to watch the birds, butterflies, rabbits, and
squirrels at Lake Jennings. The Easter Bark is a surprise for my husband and I hope
I can keep my fingers out of it. I wish I would have gotten some lemon drops at Sprouts
today but I forgot. Verlee's suggestion sounds great.

I couldn't find any lemon drops at WalMart tonight so I'm going to use some hard butterscotch candy I have on hand.
I'd planned on taking the batches I have stored in my 'fridge to church tonight and forgot.  Boy, I'm going to have a load Sunday.

Nancy,  Are you sure you forgot? Now you can taste test until Sunday. When you go
out to dinner Thurs. night, give some samples to your friend. When I think of all the
time that I have spent on making recipes and the short time that it took to make this
one. Wow!!! This was so easy!!  Thanks Nancy!!!!

Nancy - Did the M&M's melt? When did you add them to the bark?

On yesterday's shopping trip I FINALLY found some lemon drops.  Tonight I'm making the bark 1/2 with crushed lemon drops and 1/2 with red hots.   And I'm making the dark chocolate (yum yum) bark with potato chips, pretzles and peanuts.
Tomorrow night - my kids art class at church - is going to be a real treat for them.

Verlee - aren't you glad I finally found some lemon drops?  I was starting to expect you to mail me some.

Carol -- I've tried it with the suggested jelly beans, the M&Ms, crushed lemon drops and the red hots.
IMHO the way to go is the pale colored M&Ms for taste AND appearance.
It's SO good, so pretty,  fast and easy to make.

Nancy,  We took the bark with the M&Ms along camping and my husband
had a piece sitting on the table while he checked on the grill. When he got
back it was gone. He thought I ate his bark but Speedi got it! He had it
under the table and was eating the white part and not the M&Ms. I don't
think choc. is good for cats either. I watched him really close but he is ok!

Carol -- glad Speedi is OK!
Peaches and Badcat have no interest in candy or chocolate.
Well, Peaches will throw a fit if I don't share vanilla ice cream with her (she loves mint ice cream too).... and she wants every black olive she can get.

Neither one of them wants beef (??) but a couple nights ago I carried home a couple Arbys roast beef sandwiches.
Both cats had to have a nibble.

Nancy,  Our cats don't like any beef cat food but they like little pieces of beef roast
from the crockpot. Speedi thinks he has to sniff everything that I eat. He takes off if
he's not interested.

Verlee -- the M&Ms did not melt or  "run" unless I crushed one when trying to spread out the melted white morsels.  When I saw that happen I just became very careful.  And it wasn't a big problem at all -- the melted ones did not spread or smear .......... it was just where I spread it with my spatula.

Carol -- I don't think I could eat any food that hadn't been cat sniffed.  Wink
And, of all things, Badcat has to smell my breath at least 10 times a day.

Nancy,  That's a new one!!!! Maybe Badcat is checking to make sure you haven't
eaten anything that he didn't get to sniff!!!  Smart cat!!!!
