Today, July 21, is National Ice Cream Day.   I'm observing such a great event by eating all I can hold.

I don't think we get Blue Bunny on the west coast.  At least I haven't seen it.    However, I just finished a box of Trader Joe's Ice Cream Bon Bons.  A neighbor brought  it over when I was just getting over surgery.  She also brought a couple of trashy magazines, so I could eat bonbons and read trashy magazines.  That's a real good friend and neighbor!!!

In Response to Re: It's NATIONAL ICE CREAM DAY!:
GRANA here;  Our nearest DQ never honors advertisedonTV promotions/sales& the one at the MALL is 7 miles way & always crowded...We have a SWIRL & SERVE less than a mile away;     over er50 flavors & toppings  many fat free and or sugar ree but you pay bythe oz& we cannot seethe scale & get no receipt; owners are friendly 7 the place very clean;n  but hubby  wants to confirm the weight since we payby the oz. We used to go every Friday & have not been there for over 3 weeks

There are a couple of places near me that also do the "pay by the ounce" cups, put in the frozen yogurt then add the toppings but I think it is more expensive than other places and the taste is not that much better. As a matter of fact the soft serve from Costco is frozen yogurt and it is much less expensive than the pay by the ounce place.  You don't get toppings but I can forego toppings to save money...and calories.

Just returned home from food shopping.  I could not resist Ben and Jerry's Phish frozen yogurt.  Had to buy a carton.  My husband has been teasing me about it since we checked out.

Dang, I missed it!  Oh well, I'm still working on that tub of sherbert that I bought a long time ago so ice cream will have to wait until I have some room in the freezer.
