I never made any holiday breads  just plain bread  , but I have always wanted to try them . What is everyboby's favorite holiday bread  to make ?

Just got home a bit ago.....went to my sisters for Thanksgiving dinner, which was delicious! She made zucchini bread and she always makes a chocolate fruit bread for Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. It is absolutely delicious!!

I posted my recipe last week for poppy seed bread... sorry I forgot to mention to add either milk or water to the glaze just til thin enough to pour over top.. just made some bread again today.. sooo goood!  Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Thanks Susan P for the tip.  Usually when I add milk the glaze stays soft and when I add water it gets hard.  Anyone care to jump in here and tell me why?

Elsa M, I think it has something to do with the fat content of the milk.  I know if I want more of a frosting-type glaze I'll use milk and if I want it to firm up, I'll use water or half water and half milk.  Pretty much the same taste, but a different presentation..
