I think I had better wish every one on VVB a Merry Christmas first!!!  We will be at home for New Years also.  Usually I go to bed before the ball drops, and my husband wakes me up to wish a Happy New Year!  ( He is the night owl in the family).  I think I have all of you beat in age.   I'm 72 as is my husband.  We have two grown children in their 40's and 5 grandchildren (2 boys and 3 girls) that range in age from 10-17.  I hope all of you have a year of health, peace and well being.  Thanks for all of the fun I have reading all the posts.

NANCY; you youngster; I jus turnedt 67 yo in November

Hubby & I talk/ think about going out but  prefer staying safe( snow & drunk drivers on the road make staying home a sensible way to celebrate.
We may go out for lunch & be home (hopefuly)  before " they" leave the bars/martini lounges. We don't drink alcoholic beverages( FOR MEDICAL REASONS)  so  gingerale is our bubbly drink of choice. Oven heated frozen appetizers wiLl give us all the 'party foods' we need or want...we'll take a nap & get up in time to watch the crystal ball  in TIMES SQUARE DO IT'S THING.Laughing

I for one am glad the "powers that be" at VBB changed this site.  If not for the changes made I would not have taken the plunge and joined in on the posts. I have made quite a few"friends" these past several weeks and had a great deal of fun. I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.  A very Happy, Healthy and Blessed New Year. Many new adventures and recipes for the coming year. Thank you Ann, Elsa, Gale, Nancy, Susan for sharing bits of yourselves and your recipes.  I know I have not listed everyone that I have "met" but I include everyone in my wishes. (Oh, you as well John..glad you got the swapped recipes before Christmas.) And to borrow a line from a Christmas Classic.....God Bless us Everyone!

We will stay in with a meat/veg platter and a glass of wine at midnight to ring in the new year. Hard to believe it's almost 2011!

Better safe at home than out on the roads with people that shouldn't be driving.

Happy New Year,Here it is early and I've made a cheese cake, shrimp for cocktails ,cocktail sauce. Here I am doing what I love most in the kichen baking and cooking. Now I started separating the whole bone in pork loin that I bought,a roast ,center cut pork chops and some not so nice chops which I cut the meat off the bone and I'm making a small amount of homemade sausage and I'm cooking the bones for scrapple.I love having 4 things at once going,it's a challenge ! Well back to the stove.
