hmmmmmm -- New Years Eve, Dec. 31, is on a Friday, right?  I'll have breakfast with my usual group and then come home for a quiet day and evening.
New Year's Day will be a quiet time right here .... in front of my computer with two cats watching.

Nancy, at least you can have your two cats in the same room at the same time with out WWIII starting.  Mine can't stand each other.
New Years eve will be quiet, stay home maybe watch a Hallmark movie or some such thing.  New Years Day another quiet day, did make reservations for dinner..Diet resolution didn't last long there did it?  The diet begins on Sunday!  Perfect day, new year, new week.
I have long held the belief that New Years resolutions are bound to fail because we put so much pressure on ourselves to make a resolution and then to make it work.  I believe that we should all make our own "new year resolutions" and the perfect day for that is Your Birthday..that is your own new year.  Less pressure and more motivation for you to make it work for JUST YOU.  So now that I have given everyone an excuse to not make a New Years Resolution enjoy your holidays.

I will spend the evening @ home with my family and we will indulge in a seafood feast, watch some movies and just chill. We're in our fifties .old people,we don't go out anymore like we did when we were first married.Nikki you are so right about new years resolutions we do put too much pressure on ourselves and we set ourselves up for failure.Set realistic goals,if it's losing weight set your goals up for a 10# loss at a time, this is more do able and easier to achieve than 50# weight loss staring in your face all at one time.Allow yourself a small treat at the end of the week to reward yourself if you have been good all week.something to look forward to.Happy holidays to all !

It's been so long since we were young enough to "run around" that I can't even remember the last time we did any "celebrating".  Usually, I just fix a nice dinner, we watch whatever is on TV, and most times, we are sound asleep before 10 P.M.  These "golden years" are not so golden!!

We are having a party at our Church but I don't think we will be able to stay awake so we a are not going to indulge this time.  Last year folks said it was lots of fun and even our Priests were dancing but they told everyone its like Vegas.  "What happens in Vegas STAYS in Vegas.  So we can't talk about it but I hope someone took video....LOL  It would have been really funny to see our two left footed Priests dancing!

It will be hubby and myself!  I will also be making a variety of seafood and we will be playing games.  Like you gale g, being in the 50's age bracket, you just don't have in in ya like you use too!  We are content just being home and having a quiet evening together...also being safe!

My New Year's resolution will be trying to loose weight!  You have to be in the right frame of mind for it to be successful and I agree with you nikki p, you can't pressure yourself and every day you give yourself a compliment and praise the day!

I'm right behind you Nancy LOL!  Although age doesn't have as much to do with not going out as that my husband hates crowds.  New Years Eve every place around here is jam packed.  I actually prefer to stay home and stay safe anyway.  So we'll just have a quiet evening at home until the fireworks start around the neighborhood.  Then it won't be so quiet anymore!

Stay safe everyone!

My hubby is the same way.  He even hates grocery shopping during the holiday.  He grumbles that we can't even find a parking space even the handicaps are full. Long line everywhere.   I am handicap and really get miffed when I see a 20 something year old slide into a parking space and display a placard.  But then maybe I can't see hthe handicap as I look like a healthy person too but have to go in every two weeks for a Biological infusion just to get me walking....Go figure.  I must confess that I'm finally cane free for the time being.

I for one am glad the "powers that be" at VBB changed this site.  If not for the changes made I would not have taken the plunge and joined in on the posts.
I have made quite a few"friends" these past several weeks and had a great deal of fun.
I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.  A very Happy, Healthy and Blessed New Year.
Many new adventures and recipes for the coming year.
Thank you Ann, Elsa, Gale, Nancy, Susan for sharing bits of yourselves and your recipes.  I know I have not listed everyone that I have "met" but I include everyone in my wishes. (Oh, you as well John..glad you got the swapped recipes before Christmas.)
And to borrow a line from a Christmas Classic.....God Bless us Everyone!
