Halloween is coming, stores are decorated and of course candy is everywhere. 

So VBB, do you do anything special for Halloween?  Do you decorate your home, make ghoulish cookies, cakes or cupcakes, hand out treats or do you do tricks to the children?  What about a Halloween party? 

It is such a fun holiday for young and old! 

BOOOOOOOO!!!

PS:  If you got some fun recipes for Halloween, please share!!

Here you go this will freak you out:

GHOSTS IN THE GRAVEYARD:

what you need

2 pkg. (3.9 oz. each)  Chocolate Instant Pudding

3 cups  cold milk

1 tub (12 oz.) Whipped Topping, thawed, divided

15   OREO Cookies, crushed (about 1-1/2 cups)

Assorted decorations: 3 CAMEO Creme Sandwich Cookies, decorating gel, 5 candy pumpkins, 10 candy corn pieces

make it

BEAT pudding mixes and milk in large bowl with whisk 2 min. Let stand 5 min. Stir in 3 cups whipped topping and half the cookie crumbs. Spread into 13x9-inch dish; sprinkle with remaining crumbs.

REFRIGERATE 1 hour. Meanwhile, decorate CAMEO Cookies with decorating gel to resemble tombstones.

INSERT decorated cookies into top of dessert just before serving. Add candies. Drop large spoonfuls of remaining whipped topping onto dessert to resemble ghosts.

Extra:

HOW TO MAKE GREEN GRASS

Use snipped pieces of green chewy fruit snack rolls to create grass around the graveyard.

BOO CUPS

Prepare pudding mixture as directed. Alternately layer pudding mixture and cookie crumbs in 18 paper or plastic cups. Decorate as desired.

For Halloween I like to decorate inside and outside our home. For me it gets me ready for my favorite holiday, Christmas!!! I wear a simple costume, and I make up goodie bags for the neighborhood children. The number of visitors varies each year from around 30 to 80. I love seeing the latest costume fads.

We Decorate a little inside and out,the carved pumpkins just go out for a short time on Halloween night because the Squirrels chew them.We will have our annual Chili party and some of us will dress up,all the kids do and we pass our candy out together.We also have a fire.

We have  a celebration at our church.  No scary costumes or devil costumes.  There are games and food and everyone has a good, safe time.

This is not my favorite celebration. I have bad memories at this time of year. The mischief that some children have done, like lipsticking my auto just for fun. It is also the time my first husband died. I love seeing the little ones in costume, but my husband, John, is the one who answers the doorbell and enjoys the children in their costumes.

I love to decorate my home for Halloween, I make butter cut-out cookies and decorate them.  Every year I buy candy but being I live out in the country, we never get any Halloweeners!  :'(  My baby boy Jinx even has a Halloween costume!  I have a new recipe that I just found in a magazine that I got last week.  You use marshmallows, peanut butter. Capt. Crunch Peanut Butter Cereal and Halloween M&M's.  Great for kids!  I will post it this week!

Okay ladies, here is this recipe that I mentioned in an earlier post.  I got this from my TOH magazine.

PEANUT BUTTER CEREAL TREATS

30 LARGE MARSHMALLOWS
3 TBSP. BUTTER
1 TBSP. PEANUT BUTTER
6 CUPS PEANUT BUTTER CAPT'N CRUNCH
1 1/2 CUPS MILK CHOC. M&M

1.  IN A LARGE SAUCEPAN, COMBINE THE MARSHMALLOWS, BUTTER AND PEANUT BUTTER.  COOK AND STIR OVER
MEDIUM - LOW HEAT UNTIL MELTED.  REMOVE FROM THE HEAT.  STIR IN THE CEREAL AND M&M'S.

2.  PAT INTO A 13 X 9-IN. PAN COATED WITH COOKING SPRAY.  COOL.  CUT INTO BARS.

I do a little bit of decorating on the outside of the house for Halloween.  Nothing scary, just cute, seasonal things.  My kids carve pumpkins and I take them trick-or-treating.  My husband stays home and passes out treats.

I love to decorate for halloween. I always have my girl scouts decorate pumpkins and then they
are put in store windows and are voted on and given prizes. The girls don't carve them ,they are
decorated with paint, colors, crepe paper, ribbon and any other things. I am the service unit manager
for the town for girl scouts and we have 35 girls Kindergarder thru 12 grade. We have prizes for each
grade so they are  competeing  with girls of their own age.

I used to decorate the garage w/ skeletons &  bats; dressas a  witch hand out cookies, candy, donuts  & hot apple cider & cocoa.  All on our block did similar things & Haloween was a rea treat for parents & kids.Parents went around w/ their kids & enjoyed the hot cider/hot cocoa & treats; It was a  real amily/neighborhood  time of fun
I made homemade candy & caramel apples till somebody put  razor blades n apples  spoiled it for all of us. I stoped baking alloween shaped ookies & candies for the same reason, Parents now insist their kids take only comercially wrapped candy .We had over 100 kids each year( they came by carload from the suburbs) & that became too expensive  for us on  our retirees' budget Money mouth
we managed w/ that  till we spent $3+ a bag for 3 bags of candies each of the last few years  & only 4 kids showed up Surprised
This year we're giving out small tubesof  kid's toothpastes snce the only kids expected are neighbors & I know their parents wll approve.
My dentist supplied the tubes, @ her cost) after we discussed the problem of kids eating Halloween"JUNK" & not brushing their teeth often enough @ any timeFrown.
Hopefully the kids from the suburbs wlil stop coming into the city if all they get is  toothpaste!!!!!Yell

Halloween just isn't what it used to be!  When we were kids, we went all over the neighborhood in groups without a problem.  A lot of people around here don't take their kids trick-or-treating anymore.  I don't know if they go to the schools(the high school always has a big to-do in the gym).  I may not buy very much candy this year since I got stuck with most of it last year.

I got my Halloween decoration down from the attic.  So this is a start! 

The Mums are beautiful and huge; so I must pick one up next week, along with some gords. 

I love to decorate!!
