I don't do anything special other than carve 2 pumpkins.....hubby likes the seeds roasted.  Here's the recipe that I use:

Roasted Pumpkin Seeds 2 cups fresh pumpkin seeds3 tablespoons butter, melted1 teaspoon salt       1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce Line a 15x10 baking pan with foil and grease foil.  In a small bowl, combine all ingredients; spread into prepared pan.  Bake at 225 degrees for 1 ½ hours, stirring occasionally.   Increase heat to 325 degrees.  Bake 5 minutes longer or until seeds are dry and lightly browned.  Serve warm, or cool before storing in an airtight container. Yield: 2 cups.

I've always loved the holidays...they give me an excuse for baking and redecorating the house!  Pumpkin cookies have always been one of my favorites, as well as decorated sugar cookie cutouts.  Pumpkin breads were always a welcome gift for my daughters' teachers during the holidays; they always told me how they never had time to bake for themselves.  Now that my daughters are all grown, I get the grandkids int he kitchen with me...it reminds me of my younger years!  lol  It really doesn't matter what you do as long as you do it as a family.  Some of my favorite memories are the goofy cookies and cakes my kids decorated.  Just let it be fun.

This will be our first year to get kids for Trick or Treat.  The old house we lived in was on a very busy street and there were no other houses near by so we never go any one at the door.  We always got full size candy bars though just in case.  Figured it would make it worth it to come by.  Unfortunately (or fortunately) I always got the kind of candy I liked so I got to eat my favorites after the holiday. Have not done that in a while....this year will get some of the small candy bars.  From what my daughter says there is a lot of action around the neighborhood.
