HELP how to freeze baked cookies

ok guys. I am not an experienced baker yet. I want to start a tradition of making xmas cookies. But i don't know if all cookies can be baked then frozen for about a month or what is the secret of making cookies in advance. I want to suprise and impress family this year. Thank you all

i put them after cold in a plactic container between wax paper then in the frezzer

I don't freeze any cookies that have icing or that have jelly/jam centers. I do freeze drop cookies occassionally by putting them in freezer bags. No longer than a month for best results.

You can flash freeze most cookies on a cooky sheet and then put them in a freezer zip lok bag.

I freeze many cookies. I freeze cookies year 'round and have never had a problem, I put them in zip-lock freezer bags and force out as much air as I can, then toss them in the freezer.
Each bag has a magic-marker label and date (It's very difficult to remember if this bag is regular chocolate chip or peanut butter chocolate chip)
They remain fresh for a long time - 3 or 4 months - and thaw beautifully.
The only reason I bought a chest-type freezer was COOKIES!

I freeze some cookies also. I have never had a problem with freezer bags.
I like to mark the kind in the bags also. Sometimes I don't have as many as I
thought because my grandkids eat them out of the freezer bag.

I have been baking cookies for about 30 years and freezing them for about 22. My Christmas cookies are all done and have been for a few weeks! I did 19 different kinds this year! I put them in tins. I line the tin with waxed paper, put cookies layered with waxed paper, then put a piece of waxed paper over the top and put on the lid. I mark the outside of the tin with painters tape and a marker and have a freezer full of cookies! I freeze all kinds, and I never have a problem. I pack the frozen cookies in bags and then place the bags back in the freezed close to Christmas, so that the flavors do not blend. I take them out as needed. They thaw in about 10 minutes. Hope this helps!

freezeing cookies is easy just do whet everyone had told you zip loc bags i sometimes use a cookie sheet to freeze them then in the bags . i make extra rice and use a cup and put rice in it put it on cookie sheet when frozen i put in freezer bags so i have rice for 1 or more

Another thing about "too old cookies" ....... For almost 3 years I've been taking the left-over, broken,
not-so-pretty cookies to a friend who sticks them into her freezer for visiting grand kids.
She says she is completely comfortable keeping the dated bags in her freezer for a year. She and the kids love them even a year old.
She did laughingly say that she's never had a bag last a year.

I have made chocolate chip cookie dough, wrap log style in wax paper and freeze... then when ready to bake, take out of freezer, let thaw enough to slice and bake.
I have also made the dough, used a scooper and put on a cookie sheet to freeze, then put them in a freezer bag... so that when you're in the mood to bake cookies, all you have to do is bake them. Especially if you're schedule is tight you won't have be in the kitchen forever... Hope this helps :)

This morning I packed 5 big bags of cookies to take to church. Three bags go to older, now single men,
one goes to a dear couple and (lol) I'm taking an extra because I'm always seeing someone
who needs a bag of cookies.
This is a Sunday that I don't have even one kid's birthday -- that's rare!!

Verlee -- I certainly never thought I'd need a freezer when I moved away from TWO of them. Just chips, nuts and cookies convinced me I HAD to have a freezer even if there was no room inside.
The freezer in the garage is pretty inconvenient but it's very nice to have for just one person - me!

I always freeze cookies. I put them in containers with waxed paper in between. I label all of them, type of cookie and date. I've even frozen the peanut butter cookie with the candy kiss on top. They look and taste great when defrosted.
