lol lol ------- I keep thinking of more about these charming "trays".   Last night a woman who was just blown away by my tray said that she gives small gifts to friends and neighbors.  She's going to make a bunch of the trays just a bit larger than a saucer.  She will put a couple cookies, a few candies on each one , then wrap it in clear cellophane and curling ribbon.

nancy and nikki
my idea on an edge is this

like nikki said make it larger than the size you want         and when its done     just turn the pan you want up-side down        and lay the mints over and shape it around the outside like  you want it   and let it cool

voila!l

Nellie --- that was how I was thinking about doing it  but I can't work out/imagine how I can pick up the soft mints on parchment and flip it all over to .................... aaaarrrgggggg ............ NOW I see.  They don't have to be flipped over ..... the parchement can just be laid over - the bottom or the top of the tray don't matter - do they?

Some people are having WAY too much fun with this newest project!!! LOL I'm having fun reading about your experiences.  I haven't had time to make any yet, but am learning a lot in the meantime. Thanks so much for trying and sharing.

:LOL -- and I don't even have a place to take a pretty tray!  I will be taking cookies and candy to the local police dept. and to the church school's Christmas party.  Neither of these 'events' would especially enjoy a fancy container.  I use the alumn. cake pans for these.

Speaking of church school --- yesterday evening a super group of church school teens escorted by two men arrived here to sing carols for me.  They now get even more candy!!

Nikki - Thank you so much for this great idea.  This weekend my granddaughter and I are making the gingerbread house and I think I will make this for the base.  I want to thank the rest of you for the other great ideas of the dishes, etc. to make with this idea.  It really helps to read the other posts and the problem-solving that has been done for the rest of us.  A big thank you to all of you!

I was concerned about this storm --- so much WIND and now it's snowing hard -- that I went to Walmart at 5:30 this morning.  My Walmart had lots of Starlight mints.   My hands shook as I went by.
Cheri --- I wish I were a granddaughter!

I got a huge bag of starlight mints from Smart n Final. I made 1 plate
and took it to my stepson and family. I put some pink cookies on the
plate and every one thought it was awesome!! What a hit! Thank
you Nikki for starting this one.  The grandkids are going to be
making their own plates with the rest of the bag. My daughter-
in-law and a couple of her friends are going to be making them
too!!

I still had the first one I made and no idea what to do with it.  Then yesterday morning I was carrying out trash and met a neighbor carrying her's.
She said she was taking some goodies to a New Year's party so I ran inside to get that tray for her.  Both of us were delighted!
