I don't decorate for anything special except Christmas ... I put a wreath on the front door.

Don't do any decorating.  Christmas would be the only holiday for decorations but I am even cutting back on that as I have read and been told it can be confusing for someone with Alzheimer's to all of a sudden have a tree growing in the room, little decorations that look like candy but can't be eaten.  Little things like that can confuse and frustrate someone.

We have holiday flags, but not St. Patrick's day.  Right now we have nothing out, but soon I will bring out the Easter decorations and flag. I have a little metal structure on which I hang Easter decorations (eggs, bunnies etc.).  Many of the decorations I bought through Avon over the years.  I don't think they sell them anymore.  I also have a large set of Easter candles in the shapes of bunnies, and other annimals.  When the grandkids were younger they really liked all the stuff.  However, all but one is a teenager now,  but I still like to put it out.

I've noticed that as my kids get older, I put up less decorations now than I used to.  I do decorate for Christmas, Halloween and Easter every year.  For the other holidays, I usually put out a special flag or door hanging maybe a few decorations, but not many.

Since my boys are grown I don't decorate much for Easter any longer. I have a flower pot on the front step outside and put some bird houses and Easter bunnies in it. Inside I set out 2 stuffed Easter bunnies, and have a few glass colored eggs that go on the dining room table centerpiece.

I haven't decorated in quite some time. We used to go all out, inside and outside up the street and down for practically any holiday you could name, even the ones we didn't celebrate but others did. Since the wife passed there are no longer any reasons for decorating or celebrating anything. Just miss her too much...

The only time I do any decorating is Christmas and even that is very little.  If I put up the big artificial tree in the L.R. it would be hard for my husband to get around with his MS.  Our son purchased a small artificial tree which we set on the fireplace, since we don't light that anymore.  I get a few pointsettias and put them on the fireplace area too, and that is it.

I used to decorate a lot when the boys were young, but no longer with our situation.

I decorate more now than I did when the kids were little.  I always do a little for Valentines Day, a little more for Easter, and even a little more for Halloween.  Christmas is the biggy for me.  I have so many Christmas decorations, and buy more every year!  Now that I don't have to play Santa Claus on Christmas and the Kids are grown, I can afford more decorations and have the time to put them out!!  In fact I built a large new "den" on to my house just so I would have room to put up the Christmas tree!  OUr other living room was too small and I love Christmas so I had to have a new room!  I find myself buying more and decorating more for the holidays now that I am retired and have "time on my hands!"
