A couple days ago I found some really nice small metal buckets decorated with Christmas things.   I bought 22 - I think that's enough for the little kids at church school.    (The older kids will get just decorated plastic bags full of the goodies.)
I'll fill the bags buckets with Christmas candy ...... lol lol lol ...... I've already bought too much.
On the last day of schoo before the holidayl I'll take the buckets to the kids at lunch time and giant trays of my cookies.

The buckets are decorated with penguins, snowflakes, Christmas colors, etc.  I would love to find anything decorated with the real meaning of Christmas.

Do you have any plans for Christmas outside your home?

I always send 60 Cups of Joe to deployed soliders with a Christmas message attached.  My husband and I do Operation Christmas Cards each year and have approximately 600 cards ready to be sent overseas to deployed service men and women.  I participate in the Alternative Giving Trees at our church and send "In Honor Of or  In Memory Of" letters of donation to far away friends and family for Christmas "gifts" (ie: RCS Food Bank, Sazi's Well for Haitian's, Merci Clinic etc.).  My husbands unit on base sponsors a homeless family living in a shelter each year and we go to shopping for jammies, hats, mittens, scarfs, and small toys for each child.  And at the hospital (hubby's civilian job) we donate to the Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.

I for one am so so so much better at giving than receiving!!

Renee ------------- that Cups for Joe site was so good, so touching, so inspirational that I joined at once.
Of course, I bawled while trying to join.
I posted that address - https://www.greenbeanscoffee.com/coj/index.php - on a some other boards I belong to.
Thanks again for such an great site.

Nancy ~  You are most welcome as always!  Thank you for sharing the Cups for Joes site!  Bawling while joining is perfectly normal and I welp every time I hit the "send" button too!

Last night at church I talked to the dear, kind woman who is in charge of the church school.  I asked her about bring the buckets of candy to school on the last day before Christmas ........ she was very happy to say "yes".   They will all have a spaghetti lunch together.
And she said all the kids look to me for cookies.... she had planned on buying some but would love to have mine.  I am delighted!
I'll make BIG festive trays of all sorts of cookies.    I'm excited!

I am President of our local American Legion Auxiliary so at Christmas Time
my Junior members help make fruit, nut and candy baskets. I then take the girls and
baskets around town to our Veterans and shut in Auxiliary members. They really like to
do that and they always visit with everyone.
