Which Christmas cookies are you baking this year?

Gee, VBB staff there are several BUT they are in my swapped recipe collection!
Just had to get this in before John did.Wink
Plan on making Oatmeal Scotchies and a Chocolate Chunk Espresso Bean Cookie.  May toss in a white Chocolate Macadamia Nut cookie as well.

Wow ......... Actually I've tried a big number of the available recipes.
The ones I make over and over (and certainly will make for Christmas give-away) are:
Snickerdoodles
Regular Chocolate Chip  (some with pecans, some nut free)
Regular Chocolate Chip made with only White Morsels  (sometimes I make a mix of white and chocolate)
Chewie Brownie Cookies  (uses cocoa powder ... a great cookie)
Oatmeal
Double Chocolate Peanut Butter
Snickers candy bar cookies  (I made some with Butterfinger instead of Snickers)
Ice Cream Sundae cookies
Chocolate Cookies with Rolo candy inside
Chocolate Caramel Thumbprints
Gingersnaps
Sandies (Mexican Wedding Cakes)
White Chip Island Cookies (Very Best cookie I've ever made)

Number one on my list has to be Magic Cookie Bars since those are my husband's favorites.  Although last year he told me to make them after Christmas so he wouldn't have to share lol.  My daughter's favorite are Cherry Pecan Cookies, a refrigerator dough cookie.  And of course my son will eat just about anything but his favorite is fudge of any kind. 

I usually go through all of my cook books to find a variety of different cookies so it isn't always the same thing.  But with at least 15 or more  different kinds every year, some always have to be the same.  As my children remind me,  it wouldn't be Christmas without the rum balls LOL!

So far I have baked double dip chocolate slices.  Those I make from a recipe I found on the Land of Lakes web site.  They sort of remind me of a Girl Scout Mint cookie...plus they are beautiful.  I will also make Spritz from a recipe given to me by a high school friend's mother.  I also have to make peanut brittle and maybe fudge.  Those are the staples that I always make..the rest will be according to how creative I feel.

Oh, candy!! I forgot candy and just listed cookies.
I'll make peanut brittle, fudge, divinity and sugared 'n spiced nuts.

I've been trying to stock up on things like chocolate chips and nuts ... lol lol lol.

Snicker doodles,pecan puffs,m&m cookies,spritz cookies,linzer cookies,oatmeal,chocolate chip,peanut butter blossoms,sugar cookies,I'm sure there will be more still looking :) Fudge and Nancy's spiced nuts and chocolate spoons too ! and and and !

Ooohh.....alll your cookie recipes sound delightful!!
I'll be baking toll-house choc chip, snickerdoodles, and nice, plump old-fashioned sour cream cookies. Probably some others as well, but not sure yet which ones. Checking out different cookie recipes. After our housefire of 1999, my youngest sister gave me a hardback cookbook with just cookies in it.....1,001 recipes!!! I've tried out quite a few of them and they are good! I make little notations beside each recipe after I've made it so I know whether it's a keeper or not. If it's really good, it also gets a little smiley!!

I will be making an assortment of cookies that are easy like chocolate chip, peanut butter, sugar cookies, oatmeal raisin nut cookies and wedding cake cookies.  I have a recipe from many years ago that was for 1001 different cookies make from the same dough but by adding a few ingredients here or there they all came out different.  I loved making the candy cane shaped cookies.  They were always a big hit and would be gobbled up first.

I used to bake 15 different kinds of cookies every year however now I am down to my husbands favorite, Sachertorte Cookies and my sons favorites, Peanut Butter Cup and Kiss Cookies and my own special iced cookies which he LOVES!!

Sure Charlene -- I think everyone should have that precious recipe... and USE it.
It's on the back of Nestles White Chips - or it used to be.

It is right here - easy to find.  I really pack that cup of coconut.  And I use 1 cup of chopped macadamia nuts instead of the 3/4 cup called for.

Well I sure didn't need an excuse to turn the oven on today with the temperature right now at a balmy 6 degrees so I will be trying this recipe today just to keep warm!

Thanks Nancy for reminding me about the White Chip Island Cookies.  I checked it out when I saw your post about them a week or so back.  I am definitely going to make them as well.  Now I have to go back out and get the Macadamia nuts.  (Got some I can borrow? )

lol lol lol YES Nikki --- I certainly have macadamias you can borrow.   My local WalMart carried cardboard cans of them ... easy to find and always there.
Well, a month or so ago they dropped them.  After several weeks of pure panic I went to the much nicer store in the neighboring town and bought their$ in gla$$ jar$.  I stocked up.  Of course Wal Mart carried them  ONE time - cellophane bags of already chopped nuts.  Finally Wally has them back now ... in glass jars instead of the cardboard cans.  Very much more expensive.
But - because I'm so compulsive - everytime I saw those things anywhere in any store I bought all I could afford. 
I have way too many now.... I'll share

I am trying several of your recipies, plus a couple of my own...
I made some of your Oatmeal Scotchies for a party last weekend - they were the big hit on the tray! (everyone loved the idea of Butterscotch instead of Rasins)
I am also going to try the Linzer Bars for our Family Christmas Party.
This weekend we have a big Kids party and I will make a bunch of cookies, including Pfefferneuse, Decorated Sugar cookies, Plain and Decorated Toll House cookies (I loved the Mitten idea), Double Chocolate toll house cookies and Peanut butter Cookies.

I looked for the Mint chips, but was unable to find them in my area, so I am going to have to improvise... Using mint flavored Kisses in the center of my Double Chocolate cookies in the manner of the Peanut butter & Milk Chocolate treats.

I think I will be baking ALL Day on Saturday...
