The Peppermint Bark is so fast, so easy, so pretty and so good.

Today, I think, will be fudge day since it's supposed to rain tomorrow.  Maybe some chocolate covered pretzels, truffles and rum balls.  Oh boy, I better get busy lol!

Johnette - Welcome to VBB.  We're so glad to have you with us.  That peppermint bark is the easiest candy you ever made.  It's so fast and so good.  Feel free to ask any questions at all.

Making my bark, dark chocolate, white chocolate layer and then nuts and craisins.  The tart craisins (dried cranberries) with the sweet chocolates is great.

GRANA  here;
With HUBBY being a BEING A DIABETIC, & me inactive & too fat;I'llnot be making any candy...I will continue to make BIG BATCHES   of small fudgie  BROWNIES  we can both enjoy (in moderation).
If were o make candy it  would most likely be a family tradition( grapefruit candy ; peeled grapefruit peel simmered in sugar til soft & sweet & then coated w/ sugar & air dried or fudge . These days we both prefer fresh  fruit (less work  for Mother") Wink
I would liketo make NANCY's potato candy, though.

Good grief!!  Ann, this afternoon I'm making candy and I have totally forgotten that potato candy exists!!   I'm making candy for people at church ... the potato candy would be a nice unusual treat.

This evening I'm trying Pralines for the very first time .... and a first attempt at Maple Nut Fudge .
Wish me luck.

Oh my goodness ... I just made my very first batch of pralines ...... it worked!!
I made pralines!  I made almost perfect pralines.  The candy was a bit too
thick so they are a bit more globs than smooth patches but I am a very proud.
I did it.  I did it.  I did it.
Now I'm heading back to the stove to try Maple fudge.

Nancy, let us know how your maple nut fudge turns out.
If you pronounce it good, may I beg for the recipe?

It's probably a good thing I am not real close, I would come and gobble the pralines even if they don't look picture perfect.

Fudge, almond toffee, burnt sugar almonds (yummy!), and holiday party mix.  I need to get going!
