Super Bowl?  Super Bowl?  Is that something I should buy for my mixer?  Mine's pretty super right now.  Wink

Thanks to this site's chatter I know I'll have pork chops, sauerkraut and and mashed potatoes.

Hi Nancy, are you behaving yourself? LOL If you have the pork and sauerkraut peel and slice an apple and put it in the sauerkraut, before cooking, very good.Pork and apples love each other.

For New Years Day we'll have pork and sauerkraut and boiled buttered potatoes.  Of course there will probably be football on tv.  May we all have the best 2011 ever.  God bless.

I sure wish I were doing some sort of dieting TODAY.  I have that completely thawed BIG turkey bre ast that really NEEDS to be cooked today.......
And it's Saturday.  Every Saturday I clean at church.  I planned to go there early this morning (and swing bythe police station to deliver my cookies) but it snowed all night and it's still snowing lightly.  My street is a total disaster.  I'm afraid to try to drive.

So I just put the turkey in the oven .... maybe things will be better after my early dinner and I can get to the church.  And maybe I can get in the parking lot there - lol

I'm really concerned about this .... I know the children all had a party Thursday so the entire church is a disaster.  I MUST get that place cleaned up before tomorrow morning.  I could think about getting there quite early tomorrow but .........

If you are at all concerned about your safety driving DON'T drive.  I am sure that people will understand.  After all I doubt anyone expects you to be cleaning on Christmas!
By the way you would think that the adults working with the kids for the Christmas party would at least clean up after.

I had my long nap  Laughing  (lol lol Irma)
Now my driveway and sidewalk are totally cleared (living in a condo is great) AND the street is plowed!!
Two different groups of people have been through here... and I slept through it - lol lol lol

I will not leave that turkey in the oven but I know that when it's done I can to church and get things done.

One of our members own a tractor and snow plow ... I'll bet - and I hope - he's been there and the parking lot is clear.

I made myself get out on my deck in back to sweep off some bird food space.  I buy special suet for the blue birds
but all the birds want it.

Frown  Whew ... when my turkey was done I decided I'd better get going while the streets were still clear.  I just turned off the oven and took off - First stop the police station where I was royally welcomed and thanked for the cookies and candy
Frown Got to church and the parking lot was cleaned!  But the long, long step-up sidewalk wasn't ..... and there was no shovel.  I started sweeping as hard as I could ... breathing a bit hard too.  Then I saw my truck's tire --- almost flat.  Oh good grief.  I called AAA on my very expensive to use cell .... the church phone was dead.
In 5 minutes my tire was totally flat.
Frown AAA said they would have somebody there in about an hour.  I finished the sidewalk and started the inside cleaning ... (and my vac is in Sears for repair) using the most awful vac.    But there was so much over sized stuff and plain garbage I had to pick up by hand first.   AAA came and put on my spare.   What a mess --- almost as messy as my complaining, huh?
Frown  Anyhow it took me 4 hours to get home and the church is NOT clean.   My turkey is cold and I'm too tired to care.  Ohhhhhhh poor me.
I'm looking forward to tomorrow when I can laugh about this.

Nancy,
Love your sense of humour!  The men watch and the women make for the "Super Bowl".

Holidays are exciting, but tiring. It sounds as if yours was more tiring than exciting.

New Year's Eve will just be some crackers and cheese with a light supper.  Unless somebody comes over for New Years Day, I will probably just make brunch then a light supper later on.

Super Bowl is just another day for me lol.  Same old, same old.

Sounds like you need a break Nancy.   Maybe somebody else can volunteer to do some of this stuff?

I'm southern/German/Irish/Cherokee to the bone so New Years always includes black eyed peas, greens and some type of meat.

Super Bowl??? GAG!! I hate football! I used to love it but, husband and son crammed it down my throat for over 45 yrs with ever pre-game show and after game wrap up they could find! Husband curses, rants and raves and calls the players names and I get sick to my stomach hearing it. I stay in the other part of the house or go shopping for groceries and pray it is over when I get home. And  hubby took the week before it off because he is a trucker and runs all around DFW and near the new stadium where it will be this time. And they are planning on closing several of the roads, including I-30 down because of it. He is senior driver and some of the others are going to be royally ticked when they find they can't get off that week because it is already taken. I dread that week. It will be solid football shows. I am seriously thinking of renting a hotel room for that time.
