Baking for Easter

Have no idea what the plans are for Easter. Pork roast is a good possibility...no one but me likes lamb. Lasagna is another contender.
I have a Chocolate Truffle Pie that everyone likes and I just may do the Cranberry Streusel pie but rather than a pie I might make it as a crisp. I think that will go well with the pork if I do that.
I do have a recipe for a coconut chocolate pie that I would like to try. Maybe I will do that rather than the Truffle Pie. OK..it's official that is the pie I am making. Coconut Chocolate...sounds so good! So I guess that also means I will do lasagna. Great thanks for helping clear that up!

Of course, I'll be baking cookies. Easter we'll have dinner at church after morning service. I'll take my usual - broccoli salad and cookies.

I normally don't do much Easter baking. Elsie you are amazing to do so many different kinds of cookies. What lucky friends and family you have that get to receive all your wonderful baked goods.
Our family usually gets together for Easter Dinner, with an egg hunt beforehand. My daughter and daughter in law have collected so many plastic eggs over the years that it takes forever to fill them. Of course the kids are all older now, but have the egg hunt for the youngest who is 10. They all participate,and my son and son in law have a tough time hiding the eggs in less obvious places. The two oldest are 18, and 17, but they have never begged off for being too old. They both go away to college in the fall. I wonder if they will decide that they are too old next year?

I always make no bake cookies with the coconut and when the cookies are still warm, I add
3 or 4 jelly beans so it looks like a bird nest with colored eggs. Grandkids always eat the
jelly beans off first and then the cookie. Then I make an extra batch without the coconut for
my stepson who does not like coconut!!!

Wow Elsie, that's a lot of cookies! I usually only make a few different kinds of cookies for the family dinner. Thanks for reminding me, Teen, to find my bunny cookie cutters.

Of course there has to be a pie or cake decorated for Easter. Since I just found a bunny cake pan while cleaning the basement, maybe I'll go with that.

The weather here was quite spring-like today but we have another cold front moving in tonight along with some rain. Hopefully it won't get too cold for the flowers that are peeking up already.

I am thinking about a traditional ham for Easter. With deviled eggs, of course. I can't imagine making as many cookies as you do Elsie. But then, I want to eat then as fast as I am cooking them. And the husband eats them even faster! LOL

Wow! That is a lot of cookies. My mom usually makes that many for Christmas, but not for Easter. She may make one or two different cookies for Easter. We always make hot cross buns for Easter.

When my sons went off to college they asked if I was going to continue hiding the eggs. I think they liked the challenge of seeing who could find the most, more than anything else - competition!!

I kust make the traditional easter Dinner Ham, the good mashed potatoes with sour cream and creamcheese in them and scalloped corn and apple pie. Should make easter sugar cookies that are cut out but is alot of work. then to frost them. Homemade buns is a must also here in ND.

How's the first day of spring in ND?
I've lived on AFB bases in Minot and Grand Forks. Oh, how I loved ND and it's breath-taking beauty.
I even (sometimes) loved the snow!!
