Best Bake Sale Recipe???

We just hosted a very successful bake sale with our church's second grade girls.  What recipe have you found flies off of the bake sale table?

I bake so very many different kinds of cookies --- Nestles Chocolate Chip are always the favorite.

And I have found folks like a 2-layer cake, homemade, of course. I usually bake a chocolate cake with sour cream chocolate frosting.

I would suggest Nikki's Outrageous Brownies ( in her recipe box).  It makes a large amount and they are delicious!!

When I used to bake for school bake sales(years ago) brownies were always a big seller.  I would always make one batch without nuts(for those with allergies) and one with nuts.

You go one of two ways to get the best "bang for your buck"
Cookies or bar cookies.  Always a hit and easy to portion and package. (I include brownies in this category)
Or you have to go for a fancy cake or pie, something that looks spectaular and decadent.  It is something that people will not likely make at home on the spur of the moment.
When I contributed to a sale like this I did 2 things.  I made the cake or pie and I also did a "gift certificate" the person buying the gift certificate could contact me with a 24 hour notice and I would make the cake or pie for them. The certificates sold just as well as the pie or cake.  I will add that the people purchasing the certificate were people that knew me so I had no problem. These were office sales and money collected would be given to a charity.

Use coco powder, I think every one like its taste. Look this link  http://www.luluhypermarket.com/GoodLife/bake-a-perfect-mouthwatering-apricot-linzer-torte-zzfowd72.html

I did not click on the link but I have to say a Linzer Torte is wonderful but I think the price would be a bit high for most bake sales.
