4th of July - What are You Doing?

We will probably make turkey burgers on the grill and some salads, etc. My one son lives an hour away. He's a high school AP Math teacher and also works part time at a Christian Radio Station. He will be working that morning from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and will be here later in the day. My other son lives 4 hours away and will be here for several days. They will help with the cooking. Then, before we eat, they will bring food to their aunt and her aid. Their aunt is paraplegic. They will also bring food to the elderly woman who lives upstairs from their aunt. When they get back we will eat.

What are you planning?

I believe we are going to have BBQ Chicken Breasts, Seasoned Baby Reds in foil, Garden Salad and Corn on the Cob. Dessert will be a Choc. Chip Cake w/Choc. Icing.

Our son and perhaps our daughter and son-in-law (depending on work schedules) will be visiting. We will grill, eat out, take our pontoon boat out and watch fire works in Hot Springs, AR at our condo.

Weather permitting I will be flying our flag and waiting patiently for my husband to come home from work! Besides his day job my husband services in the USAF and I thank him and all who serve every day for the sacrifice they give to keep us THE LAND OF THE FREE!!

Having a big bar-b-q with family and friends, then fireworks in the eveing.
All my family will be together this year. I will grill hambergers, hot dogs,and steaks.
Everyone else will bring salads and desserts.There will be around 30 adults and children,
we will all play games in the afternoon.

I think we will be going to my mom's house. One of the kid's that I grew up with in the neighborhood sets off fireworks every year so we wil go and watch them again this year. Not sure what we will be eating.

Our Town always has a big 4th of July parade with every thing from veterans, a Marine Band, little league, swim teams, churches floats, high school bands, scouts, and the lawn mower drill team from one of the local homeowner's assoc. My husband will be riding his bike as part of the East Bay regional park district volunteers. I will be attending with my daughter and her family.
Afterwards we always go to my son's for a pool party and barbecue. My son and daughter in law supply the main dish usually chicken, hot dogs, and hamburgers. The rest of the guests bring everything else. I'll be bringing home made ice cream and cookies/ brownies.

Sounds like you all are going to have a great time over the holiday. We're just planning on spending a quiet(hopefully) day at home and maybe cook out. We've had people setting off fireworks for over two weeks around here. A little quiet would be a good thing lol.

Probably moving the last of the stuff from the old house. I will toss a chicken on the grill or in the oven and invite my daughter, son in law and grandkids down. My grandson, all of a sudden last weekend when I made the Carmelita Bars (without nuts because he never liked nuts) said the bars would taste better with nuts. So he and I will make another batch with nuts. May make a Chocolate Mousse as well.

We may go watch fireworks as well. (Just might be able to see them from the house.)
