GRANA here; This time of year,I make smoothies: 1 piece of fruit,[ one cup], cubed & frozen in snack size  plastic  zip top bags  blended w/ choiceof 1/2-1cup milk or real  fruit juice; not  punch along w/one half to one cup of plain  non fat or low fat yogurt , = 2 tsp sugar (one pkt blended )on high tll smooth,[ blender gets quieter;  &  serve promptly .This is high protein low fat& provides2 fruits per serving( using  real juice ]
The frozen fruit makes the drink icey cold refreshing; sugar or subst is optional if fruit is not sweet enough for you .
I use banana slices  &  enjoy it as a leep promoting bedtime  drink; perfect on those too  hot sultry days to ensure a better balanced diet when your ppetite may be"off" Cool due to the  heat &  humidity. Just a quick rinse out &  the    blender is clean Smile

 GRANA here;    Make a pretty  fruit plate like this one ; banana; kiwi OR raw apple; tangerines & serve  vanilla yogurt &  wholegrain bread/ cracker choice& a cool drink
It's almosttoo pretty too eat, but I think they willenjoy it,Smile
 A light no cook meal, well balanced, attractive  & 
yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love the photo. I am not sure if hubby will eat the kiwi (I will), but I am going to buy some & make the fruit arrangement. Thanks for posting this.

Chicken, onion & bell pepper kabobs with a side of pineapple & a side of tomato chunks were part of Wed. dinner. Hubby ate all.

I always keep fresh fruit on hand - grandkids love it! The especially love the "peaches without the fuzz"!!

Between the two of us, we always have two crispers full.....one with veggies, and the other with fruits. They empty very quickly.  Hubby eats carrots as a snack....probably 5 or 6 times a day.  I go for the fruit.  Right now the crisper is full of apples, nectarines, peaches, bananas, lemons, and apricots.  It's much easier in the Summer to keep up with eating enough veggies and/or fruits than in the Winter.  In the Winter, we use a lot of canned fruit and vegetables.....not as good as fresh.....but what can one do?!

 We eat lots o f fruits& veggies,except in thewinter when out of season poduce prices  make make them too costly for us
 This time ofyear ( soon to end) we enjoy salads on most  days; fruits for appetizers &  desserts; snacks too. Smile

Canned fruit & vegs. are better than no fruit or vegs.
I stock up on both when they are on sale (I check the exp. dates ).  I use pineapple & applesauce as a side with certain dinners (pineapple goes well with things in BBQ sauce & Mexican food, applesauce with pork & meatloaf ).  When I make pizza I load on the onions & bell peppers.
